Stewardship PrayerGod of our history; God of our challenging present; God of our hopeful future: you have trusted us with all we have. In this time of thoughtful reflection, direct us as faithful stewards, to provide a place where your word is heard and love and grace abound. You have trusted us not to hide, hoard, or waste our gifts but to share them. Open the hearts of we who have been called to this sacred place to do your work. Give our gifts meaning by trusting us to give them away. Give our gifts value not through accumulation, but through their use. Amen.

Greetings!
 | | Bruce Barkhauer |
With appreciation for our past and anticipation of our future, What We Begin.... is the theme for the 2013-2014 Stewardship Campaign. We'll kick off this campaign on Sunday as we welcome Rev. Bruce Barkhauer, director of the Center for Faith and Giving into the pulpit at all three services.
Rev. Barkhauer has been an effective pastor, has a background in business and communication, and has been active in community service and organization. He has been described as having a clear, uncompromising theological understanding of stewardship - not only as a financial impetus but as a spiritual discipline.
Join us in worship on Sunday as we kick off our 2013 campaign.

Campaign Q&A
What Is Stewardship?
The goal of our annual stewardship campaign is to raise the financial resources we need to effectively minister to our congregation, our community and the world. Yes, it's about money. But it's about so much more than that. Making a financial commitment to your church is an act of faith; a recognition of the presence of God in your life; an appreciation for the gift of grace.
What is a Pledge?
We ask you to make an annual pledge to your church. This pledge is your commitment to give a certain amount over the course of one year. We ask for this year-long commitment so we can plan the church's budget. The pledges we receive from our congregation during the Stewardship Campaign form our operating budget for the next year.
How Much Should I Give?
The amount each person or family is able to give is a personal decision. In making that decision, please consider that we estimate that next year's annual operating budget will increase by 3 percent over the current budget. In order to meet that budget, we ask that members prayerfully consider increasing their annual commitment by at least 3 percent.
The programs we can offer, the outreach we can provide and the impact our congregation can have on its members and others is directly affected by the funds we have available for those purposes. Whatever the size of your commitment, your generous gift is important and appreciated.

Meet Katie Allison Stewardship Chair
I have been a member of the church since 2002. I was looking to change my association from my former church of 30 years. I joined the church because of the people. From my first visit I felt welcomed. The theme of this years' stewardship campaign is What We Begin.....
For me, what we begin today .......May be THE smile that brings a visitor back.
What we begin today.......May be THE funds that continue our children's program.
What we begin today.....May be THE mission trip that bridges our world with another. |
