HOW WOULD YOU MANAGE $22,999999.20?
Certainly not with an abacus.

When most folks hear the word 'audit', it makes their arm hair stand on end just a little - even when they know they're as honest as the day is long. It's kinda like when you see the cops and you were just considering a little rebellious jaywalking.

At the last regular board meeting, Brad Hodges of Simmons, Clubb & Hodges CPA briefly summarized the FMAA audit process and the outcome for Fiscal Year 2015. (We know, it's funny to see the words 'CPA' and 'briefly' used in the same sentence, but hang in there-this story has a good ending!) summarized the FMAA audit process and outcome for Fiscal Year 2015.

Mr. Hodges, a pretty charismatic CPA, commented that airport staff should be congratulated for their efforts and complimented Administrative Assistant Roberta Christensen for processing approximately $23 million with only an $0.80 balance in the reconciliation discrepancy account.

Sometimes you just have to say...heck of a job, team!! Stand up and take a bow, Roberta!

WILL YOU PLEASE REPEAT THAT?
I couldn't hear you over that plane.

A Voluntary Noise Abatement Program Review Committee is being formed
to review the airport's current noise abatement program.

What is the current program anyway? We call it Good Neighbor Flying and the key ingredient is that it's voluntary.

It's all explained quite nicely on the website which states that in a shared vision by community members, pilots, airport staff and tenants, a voluntary noise abatement committee was formed to promote "Good Neighbor Flying."

The current goals for the FMA Noise Abatement Program are as follows:
    • Ensure that airport operations are compatible with the surrounding communities.
    • Educate, involve and engage the community and flying public about our ongoing dedication to addressing noise issues at the airport.
    • Be committed to being a good neighbor
    • Respond to each concern and take action as appropriate.
    • Strive for continued and increased success of the Noise Abatement Program.
