Join the Trail of Hearts Hike at Kamview - October 4
A NORTHERN HEARTS & MARK PREECE HOUSE FUNDRAISER

Dr. Chris Lai and Take A Hike invite you to enjoy the trails of the Kamview Nordic Centre on Saturday, October 4th in support of Northern Hearts and the Mark Preece Family House (MPFH).

Northern Hearts is a local charity dedicated to reducing the incidence of heart disease and the Mark Preece Family House provides supportive, affordable accommodations for families of critical care patients in Hamilton hospitals.  Since the MPFH opened three years ago, over 500 Thunder Bay area families have stayed there.

To participate in this heart healthy event all you have to do is collect a minimum of $20 in pledges and walk or run one of the 1, 2 or 5 km trails. Your pledges will benefit both charities.
 

Pledge forms are available at Take A Hike or may be downloaded from www.northernhearts.org. (Just click "Trail of Hearts" at the top right hand side of their home page.)
 

On the day of the event, please sign-in at 10:00 a.m. and turn in your pledges. Then it's time to enjoy the magnificent scenery as you stroll or run along one of the 1, 2 or 5 km trails. We'll wrap it up with a light lunch, refreshments and plenty of participant draws. Major prizes will also be awarded to the top 3 fundraisers.

 

If you can't attend but would like to make a pledge, please stop by the store. We'll pass it on.

With fall merchandise arriving daily and Christmas just around the corner we're quickly needing to build up our team of sales associates. If you've recently retired and are ready to start a new part-time career, please come see us.

Previous retail experience isn't necessary and working the checkout is much easier than you think. It's your life experience, reliability, work ethic, positivity and ability to play hostess that appeals to us most. You must be easy going, out going and love meeting people.

In addition to extra income, you'll enjoy huge staff discounts on the products you love. We'll do our best to schedule around commitments but you will need to work at least three days per week (including occasional weekends and evenings).

If you're interested, please drop by the store and talk to Diane. If it appears you might have what it takes, she'll offer to buy you coffee and the two of you can chat about it further. If you're still on the same page, she'll invite you to come in for a two week trial. After that, if we're all still loving it, you're hired!

A handwritten summary of your work and life experience will suffice as a resume.  Please include contact information and your availability.
