New Manual Articular Approach DVD Series
This DVD Series introduces a new modality of working with joints developed by Jean- Pierre Barral, DO, in cooperation with Alain Croibier, DO.
More than 40 years of clinical practice have led to this innovative approach, which includes working with all the different components of a joint - muscles, ligaments, capsule and labrum, synovial fluid inside the capsule, arteries and veins, and nerves.
This breakthrough approach uses the presence of mechano-receptors to work with connections between the joint and the brain. As Jean-Pierre Barral states in his introduction in each DVD, "Speak to the brain through the joints."
The 5-part DVD series includes anatomy, physiology, theory and treatment in a very clear and concise manner to make it user friendly for all manual therapists. The anatomy for each technique is cross-referenced with pages from Thieme and Netter anatomy books for ease of
learning.

From the Desk of
John Matthew Upledger
Hope this note finds you well.
Here is an eight minute clip from Mark Bertolini, CEO and President of Aetna. In the clip, he speaks about healthcare as well as the benefits of yoga and alternate therapies for de-stressing to enhance productivity and lower individual healthcare costs by about $3,000.
Mr. Bertolini tells his personal story - a ski accident that resulted in a long list of meds and the prospect of life on disability. Not the outlook he had in mind, he started a healing journey that included CranioSacral Therapy (which he pronounced correctly!).
I think this excerpt is extremely valuable and eye opening. I wanted to be sure to share with you just how important and necessary your work is...5 grams goes a long way!

In Memoriam
Mr. Kenji Oba MRO(J) passed away March 28th, 2013, at the age of 61, after a long fight with colon cancer.
Mr. Kenji Oba had been an integral part of
Upledger in Japan and was a great osteopath, teacher
and instructor of CS1 and CS2 for
more than 25 years. He was also the Chairman of the Japan Osteopathic Academy.
It was Mr. Kenji Oba's wish to spread the Japanese osteopathic technique, "exaggerate method," all over the world through the Upledger Institute International. He will be greatly missed personally and professionally.

Our Marvelous Lymphatic System: Recent Discoveries Bring New Outlooks in Client Care
by Bruno Chikly, MD, DO
For more than 25 years now, I have devoted my career to the research and study of the lymphatic system-from its physiology to the development of hands-on methods for eradicating associated health conditions. In that time, medical and scientific knowledge of the lymphatic system has continued to evolve as research uncovers new and significant qualities and functions of this marvelous filtering system. What's more, with each new revelation has come a better understanding of how to work with lymph to improve health and eliminate disease.

Words from
Suzanne Scurlock-Durana,
CMT, CST-D
As therapists who are working at the cutting edge of complementary medicine, what helps us feel clearer, steadier, more patient with our clients and well energized ourselves? All of the IAHE curriculums teach therapists how to listen deeply to the system of each patient or client and to mobilize the body's own healing mechanisms (each in their own way.)

Total Body Balancing 1
Testimonial
I very much enjoyed the "Total Body Balancing 1" class by Dr. Kerry D'Ambrogio and his very helpful assistant Dr. Tracey Clark-Worrall. The class started out by challenging my evaluation skills by reviewing some past forgotten postural evaluation methods and adding some new ways to look at the human body in order to gain a new observational perspective.
The evaluation was easy to understand and follow by the students of the different disciplines present in the class. It challenged our critical thinking skills by analyzing posture ROM and function....

With so much focus on each patient, it may be difficult to keep track of the business side of your manual therapy practice. In fact, quite a few manual therapists enter this field with little knowledge about business, and little desire to concentrate on basic business concepts.
One Policy Covers All:
~ Lymphatic Drainage Therapy
~ CranioSacral Therapy
~ Visceral Manipulation
~ Neural Manipulation
~ Muscle Energy Technique
...plus over 350 other Massage and Bodyworker Modalities at No Additional Cost!
