National Campaigns

The Above the Influence (ATI) "Be It" activity encourages youth to look at the power of influence, both positive and negative, through slogans and logos, and how the reputation of the brand can change with actions. "Be It" asks teens to create their own personal slogan that captures who they are and how they choose to live their life to stay above negative influences. Through this activity, the National ATI Campaign held a "Be It" contest, where slogans were submitted by youth throughout the nation.

Hawaii did exceptionally well with two agencies highlighting their youth work. EWAlution96706 (E9) Youth in Action Act (YAA) created a positive approach to the LMFAO acronym.  Click here for highlights of the LiveMyFailuresAsOpportunities campaign. And be sure to check out LiveMyFailuresAsOpportunities on Facebook to see pictures of their activities! Ewa Beach's Boys & Girls Club - Hale Pono also got involved and created radio PSA's, mall posters and a youth video. Community Program Highlight

IM SO HIGH Above the InfluenIM SO HIce

The Social Norms Media Project (SNMP) at Kapolei High School is a project led by a Youth Team consisting of Kapolei students. The focus of the campaign is to: raise awareness, correct misperceptions, and convey factual and positive messages to their peers and community on the consequences of underage drinking and the message that most teens choose NOT to drink.

The campaign slogan IM SO HI Above the Influence, created by the Youth Team was used to promote normative messages, facts, statistics and youth-inspired materials on underage drinking prevention. The Youth Team developed poster campaigns and public service announcements, conducted classroom presentations, and sponsored pep rallies, assemblies and lunch activities.
