"alcopops." The display board features what alcopops are, common brands, risk factors, tips for prevention and more.

National Campaigns

Alcohol Awareness Month
April is designated as Alcohol Awareness Month, an opportunity for youth and adults to focus on preventing youth access to alcohol and underage drinking. Visit the Underage Drinking Enforcement Training Center for free resources (documents, distance learning opportunities and success stories) specific to preventing underage drinking and youth access to alcohol.

Town Hall Meetings 2012

Join with the nation and Hawaii in addressing underage drinking. Mobilize your community and get everyone involved in preventing underage drinking. Check out if a Town Hall Meeting is happening near you: Waipahu, Hilo, Honolulu, Kaneohe, Kapolei and Lanai City. Community Program Highlight

April 2012 Alcohol Awareness Month "Sticker Shock"
Alcohol Awareness Month is just around the corner and the City and County of Honolulu's Be a Jerk campaign is gearing up for an island wide "Sticker Shock" project. This encourages parents and other adults to stop the social availability of alcohol to minors. Youth groups and adults will partner with retail establishments to get the message out to adult consumers by placing "Don't Give Alcohol to Anyone Under 21" stickers on beer cases and other alcohol products.

Attendees will learn about suicide first aid resources and have an opportunit
y to explore their own attitude about suicide. The 3.5 hour training runs from 9:00AM to 12:30PM. There is no cost for this workshop.

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training
ASIST is a two-day intensive training, interactive and practice-dominated course designed to help caregivers recognize and review risk, and intervene to prevent the immediate risk of suicide. The two-day training will run from 8:00AM to 4:30PM. There is no cost for this training.
