Looking Ahead - 2016

I already have a short list started for folks that have emailed us wanting to participate in CRPs.  CRPs?  Yes, Citizen's Review Panels.  These are the community members from all across the Eastern Upper Peninsula, that come together on one day to hear presentations from our grant applicants. These citizens are very community minded.  They listen, learn, ask questions and then score grantees, which in turn, helps determine the amount of their award.  This year we had 14 applications to potentially fund through 2016-2017.  If you are able to join us on February 25th let me know.

Our office will be closed the last 2 weeks of December.  We have found that we receive little traffic and it gives our small staff a chance to refresh and gear up for a new year.  We enjoy this time with our families and hope you will too.

Together we can be the difference.

2015 Thanksgiving Basket Project
It will be a Happy Thanksgiving for over 70 families in the Sault area this year!
We have partnered once again with Sault Ste Marie Area Public Schools Middle School, MI Dept of Health and Human Services, Family Video, and the US Coast Guard - Sector Sault to round up Thanksgiving type foods for our annual basket project. Baskets are distributed the week before Thanksgiving each year, and include items for a full turkey meal and all the trimmings.
This year, we were able to bring on several new partners including Hoover Precision Products LLC through their Employee Community Action Fund, and Century 21 Advantage Plus
We are grateful to all of these businesses and organizations who take time out of their busy day and find a way to #LiveUnited. The support their staff show to our local communities has been phenomenal!
We are very thankful to the LSSU Volleyball Women's team for their help this year with readying baskets for distribution day, and all of the help that SAMS student groups, including Wow Jr. have been able to offer.
