What's Your Color?
Congratulations, Nancy S., our February Savings Certificate winner. Her favorite color is Benjamin Moore Blue Bonnet (2050-70). She shared not only a great story, but before and after photos of her project.
"When I purchased my home 3 years ago, the seller had redone the 1950s rambler. They had converted a small back porch into a (sort of) sunroom off the kitchen.
The room had yellowish, off-white walls, no window treatments, and a white tile floor. The lack of vibrant color, combined with the room's location at the "end of the line" for heating and cooling, made for a very cold and boring room. I turned it into a cozy breakfast nook, inspired by a beautiful, brightly-upholstered club chair, and my salt and pepper shaker collection.
My father, a former carpenter, helped me build a banquette for seating and storage. On Color Wheel's recommendation, I stained the banquette with Old Masters Gel Stain American Walnut (81804) and finished it with Old Masters Polyurethane.

Seat cushions and fabulous pillows were created by my sister, a sewing expert, to complement the club chair. I added white wooden blinds with valances to match the handmade mantels where I display my salt and pepper shakers.
The final touch was color. While clean and freshly painted, the room seemed dingy. In consultation with Color Wheel's team of experts, I chose Benjamin Moore's Aura (eggshell finish) in Blue Bonnet (2050-70), which brought the room to life. It's now filled with plants, natural light, and good times."
