QU Debuts Plans for "Legends Stadium" During Mackenzie Celebration
Over 100 alumni and friends returned to Quincy University on October 20 to celebrate the legendary career of longtime men's soccer coach Jack Mackenzie.  After 43 years at the reigns, Jack formally announced his retirement in July.  Speakers at the event included former team captains Erv Pesek '71, Jerry Murphy '70, Pat Howley '81, and Eric Delabar '79.  Other notable guests included Sharon Mackenzie (Jack's wife of 50 years) and their six adult children:  Chris, Kevin, Scott, Brian, Megan, and Beth.  Guests were treated to a special video commemorating Jack's Hall of Fame career.  That video is viewable on the Quincy University Youtube channel.

In addition, Quincy University announced plans for a $1.5 million renovation to the North Campus soccer complex.  The site, soon to be known as "Legends Stadium" , will include a "Walk of Champions", and a synthetic turf field that will be named in Jack's honor.  For more information on the project, visit the  Quincy University website.
Soccer Teams Wrap Up Great Seasons
And speaking of soccer, congratulations are in order for both our men's and women's soccer teams.  Our Lady Hawks finished with a first place record of 16-2-2 and capped the season with their first ever GLVC Tournament Championship!  Our men's team finished second in the GLVC with a record of 12-2-5.  Both teams made it to their respective NCAA national tournaments.
Alumni Get First Look at Pre-Law Center
More than 50 alumni and friends gained an exclusive look at Quincy University's new Mock Trial Courtroom and Pre-Law Center during the October 19 ribbon cutting ceremony.  In conjunction with the second annual Adams County Alumni gathering, this event offered guests the chance to talk to current students and experiment with cutting edge learning technologies offered by the new center.
