Welcome to April, Autism Awareness Month! Autism continues to be on the heart of the world because we are challenged by the increasing rates and lack of answers. However, in the midst of puzzle, we find stories of hope, recovery and victory. MyGOAL families joins the Autism world in saying.. "Thanks for noticing and caring"..
On behalf of all our special needs individuals and their families, thank you for your support and prayers.
We also have numerous outreach events to spread the word about Autism, in the US and Globally!  Throughout the month of April, we will share our weekly Notes and Stories of our heroes, the families and special needs individuals. We will also keep you updated about what is happening with MyGOAL and the Autism Community.
2014 Bowling for Autism

On Sunday, April 27th 2014 from 2-5pm, we are having our Annual Bowling for Autism event! This takes place at Stelton Lanes in Piscataway. 
We want to encourage you to  invite your friends, family,  and co-workers supporting you and the Autism community at this event. You can have them  to Donate Now on your fundraising pages or to Register for the event. You can also download the flyer to help us spread the word!

Haven International Project in Ghana
Overview and Management Approaches to Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. 
This is a free autism awareness event for parents, caregivers, teachers, and Health Care Professionals. 
When: Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 5pm to 7pm

Teaching Students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities: Effective Strategies for Student Success
When: Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 9AM - Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 4PM
Where: Kama Conference Hall, Ghana, West Africa
This 3-day Workshop is focused on developing understandings and identifying approaches to evidence-based practices in the education of students with intellectual disabilities including autism.
Participants will be provided with current information and strategies that they can use in the classroom or at-home. Topics will include the following: (1) demystifying the learning and development of children with autism; (2) the fundamentals of behavior support; (3) creating learning environments to support communication development and social relationships; (4) specific approaches to learning that are data-based and driven; (5) assessment of learning and development. Those attending this workshop will receive a Certificate of Accomplishment from The College of New Jersey.

CDC reports that Autism now affects 1 in 68 children. In New Jersey, it was reported as 1 in 45.
