- Students will follow their regular schedule in reverse and will attend all classes where an exam is given. If your teachers request your presence in a non-exam class, you must attend. If you have a study hall or a class where an exam is not given and your teacher has not requested your presence, you do not need to be present in school.
- We strongly discourage absences during exams. If an absence occurs, the student will make up exams missed during the make-up period. Parents must report absences to the main office. A student who is absent due to illness or a death in the family will not be penalized. Exams missed for any other reason will be assessed a grade penalty.
- Students who arrive late (after 8:15 a.m.) must sign in with the main office before reporting to her exam.
- Do not leave your books, back packs, purses or other items unattended in the cafeteria, auditorium, lobbies, or hallways.
- Students who are dismissed from the classroom at 9:45 (12:15) must QUIETLY report to the cafeteria or auditorium. Remember, others are still working on exams. At 10:15 a.m. students may leave these areas to run errands or to visit the locker room.
- There will be no supervision provided after 3:00 p.m. during exam week. Students are to be in the library (for silent study) from 1-3 p.m. Our recommendation is to make arrangements to be picked up immediately following exams each day.
- Use the lavatory prior to reporting to your classroom. Students will not be permitted to leave the classroom during exams.
- Place any books, book bags, or other materials at the front of the classroom prior to taking an exam. NO CELL PHONES, TABLETS OR LAPTOPS ARE PERMITTED IN THE EXAM ROOM. Possession and/or use of these items in any manner will merit a zero for the exam.
- We expect students to uphold the honor code. The sharing of information/material from the exam will be considered a violation of the code and will result in a zero.
- Students are to dress in full and complete uniform for exams.
- Students who have been granted untimed testing will begin the test in the classroom with their class. When the 2nd hour exam period is over, you are to meet Mrs. Burke. You will then be moved to a room to complete the test.

Year of Mercy
Celebrating the Year of Mercy On Tuesday, December 8th, the Church opened the Year of Mercy in response to the wishes and reflections of Pope Francis. We invite all of you to become familiar with the Year of Mercy by watching this short Youtube reflection. Please click here for video. Admitting when we are struggling and need help is difficult and scary. It requires putting our trust in someone else, praying that God's mercy will flow through them. Consider Cate's story: For years she silently suffered from mental illness, afraid to tell anyone else about her struggles. Over time, she found the courage to seek counseling from a Catholic therapist. The therapist was so accepting, understanding, and merciful that Cate opened up for the first time. Cate has experienced both mental and spiritual healing through her time in counseling. Now, Cate knows that her illness is right where God desired to meet her, and that in fact God's mercy has been with her for her whole life. Where are you struggling, physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually? What do you need help with? Lord Jesus, just as you said to the crippled woman, "You are set free from your infirmity" (Luke 13:12), help me to receive mercy in those places in my life where I struggle and suffer. Amen. mercy.adw.org/trinity-sunday |

Class of 2016 Parents
Approximately three to five business days following the graduation ceremony, Victor O'Neill Studios will have the graduation photos available online for purchase. Each senior will be photographed multiple times during the ceremony, both in casual and candid shots. The Studios does a beautiful job capturing the moment with multiple cameras so that the families can relax and enjoy the special day. Here is the link that will take you directly to the website - click on Events and then Graduation to follow the Seton line: vosphoto.com/seton Please email Mrs. Ginger Thompson gthompson@setonhs.org if you have any questions. |
Class of 2017 Parents
By now you should have received the letter from Victor O'Neill Studios regarding information for senior portraits. Students will each receive an additional mailing (postcard) that will include their specific portrait time. After the mailing goes out, the Studios will provide the school with the list of times. If your daughter cannot make the seating at all this June, we ask she cross out her name so another student might use the time slot. If you would like your daughter to consider a different time, please have her come and check the list and see what will work. Those who cannot make the June dates will be photographed during school in September. There will be plenty of information about this in September. Please email Mrs. Ginger Thompson gthompson@setonhs.org if you have any questions. |
Senior Parents
We have asked your daughters to bring their acceptance and scholarship letters to the guidance office. We will make copies of their documents and return the original letters to you. The guidance staff is currently working on finalizing the program for Baccalaureate. If your daughter has received scholarships we need to have copies of the letters directly from the college or scholarship organization by noon on Monday May 23rd in order for it to be included in the program and on our posted scholarship list.

Summer Youth Session - Light the World
The School of Theology and Religious Studies at Catholic University of America received a grant to begin a summer youth Institute, "Light the World!" from June 12-18. "Light the World!" gives rising high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to learn and experience the intersections of faith and culture. Each morning, talks and group time share what the Catholic intellectual tradition has to offer on the intersection of faith and that arena. Topics include: science, art, sports, business and politics. Experts in these fields will meet with students each afternoon. Places to visit include: NASA Goddard Space Museum, Washington National Park, National Gallery of Art and the Capitol Building. Over the course of the week, students will work on a project to speculate how their own future profession might intersect with their faith, and each student produces a brief video clip on the topic. The Institute also aims to give high school students a taste of college life for a week; living, eating and praying as college students do. For more information please contact, Catherine Graveline at Catholic University via email: graveline@cua.edu or visit: http://www.cua.edu/academics/pre-college/index.html |

Registration Update - New Information
Dear Parents, In June, Seton will be migrating to a new database system to handle all of our computer work including our tuition and financials. In preparation for this move, two pieces of information are critical to you: - FACTS FEES: Any parent who has unpaid FACTS FEES must pay them by May 31st. Failure to pay these fees will prohibit your daughter from taking exams in June.
- When you re-register, the new system will only allow parents who are checking that they want to pay their tuition in two installments, EXACTLY TWO INSTALLMENTS on July 1st and January 5th. Therefore, if you cannot pay your tuition in exactly two installments, you must sign up for monthly installments through FACTS. Parents will not be allowed to sign up for two installments of tuition and pay partial amounts of these two required payments.
Thank you for your cooperation with our system migration. Sister Ellen Marie |
