Alert - Tomorrow!
Alert!!! Tomorrow, April 28th will be a very busy evening for Seton. We host team practices, a home lacrosse game (4-?), Seton Open House (6-7) and the Spring Music Concert (7:30--9:30). This means that traffic and parking may be serious issues. I have several (I could use more) volunteers who will help direct traffic and keep things flowing. Anyone else who would be available to help with traffic and parking from 4-9 should email Mrs. Burke at lburke@setonhs.org. Over-flow parking will be available at the Bladensburg Community Center, and at Rogers Heights and Port Towns Elementary Schools. I will have a shuttle bus available for those parking at the Bladensburg Community Center. Visitors may park in our lower lot, in front of the school, in the lot behind the Sister's House or at the above listed alternate locations. Visitors may not park in "no parking", "yellow lined areas", or reserved spaces. There is to be no parking around the flag pole/cafeteria area as we have to leave this area free for pick up and drop off of students and for buses. |

We will stay at the St. Vincent de Paul Youth Center in the Germantown area of Philly, and work at different service sites each day. This location comes highly recommended as an organization that values service for and with the poor. Students will work with children, the elderly, those experiencing homelessness and those with disabilities. This trip can be used to earn service hours for school year 2016-17, or to make up missed hours from previous years. Students participating will earn 24 service hours, for service to those in need. departure: Tuesday, June 7th at 1pm (after last final exam) return: Saturday, June 11th, approximately 12 noon at Seton website: http://svdpcenter.org/location: 49 West Logan Street, Philadelphia, PA transportation: Seton vans driven by Seton staff cost: $160 for transportation, room and food -- financial aid is available Permission slips can be found on the Campus Ministry bulletin board. Year of Mercy
Celebrating the Year of Mercy On Tuesday, December 8th, the Church opened the Year of Mercy in response to the wishes and reflections of Pope Francis. We invite all of you to become familiar with the Year of Mercy by watching this short Youtube reflection. Please click here for video. The experience of receiving mercy fills our hearts with joy. Overflowing, we can't help but share that loving mercy with those around us! As Pope Francis reminds us, "We are called to show mercy because mercy has first been shown to us" (Misericordiae Vultus, 9). He asks us to dedicate this year "to living out in our daily lives the mercy which the Father constantly extends to all of us." (MV, 25). So many people in our lives are in need of mercy: family and friends, the poor, the sick, and the outcast. How can you open your heart in a special way this year to share mercy with those in need around you? Live out the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy in your daily life. Feed the hungry. Give drink to the thirsty. Clothe the naked. Shelter the homeless. Visit the sick. Visit the imprisoned. Bury the dead. Counsel the doubtful. Instruct the ignorant. Admonish sinners. Comfort the afflicted. Forgive offenses. Bear wrongs patiently. Pray for the living and the dead. Use your gifts in service to your parish community. Get involved in your local parish. Use your gifts in service to others through the ministries of Catholic Charities. Get involved in efforts to care for our common home through the Archdiocese Care for Creation Committee. http://mercy.adw.org/ |

Registration Update - New Information
Dear Parents, In June, Seton will be migrating to a new database system to handle all of our computer work including our tuition and financials. In preparation for this move, two pieces of information are critical to you: - FACTS FEES: Any parent who has unpaid FACTS FEES must pay them by May 31st. Failure to pay these fees will prohibit your daughter from taking exams in June.
- When you re-register, the new system will only allow parents who are checking that they want to pay their tuition in two installments, EXACTLY TWO INSTALLMENTS on July 1st and January 5th. Therefore, if you cannot pay your tuition in exactly two installments, you must sign up for monthly installments through FACTS. Parents will not be allowed to sign up for two installments of tuition and pay partial amounts of these two required payments.
Thank you for your cooperation with our system migration. Sister Ellen Marie |
