Parent - Student Announce

New Logo

Greetings!

Please find below Parent/Student Announce for Wednesday June 2, 2015.

Dear Parents,
As we approach summer vacation, I want to thank you for all you have done this year to support Seton.  Your service to our school has been absolutely tremendous as has been your support of our students in a myriad activities.
I especially want to thank all of you who supported the Capital Campaign.  We will be working steadily over the summer to secure additional donations. We look forward to opening next school year with fantastic facilities improvements.
The staff and I promise to keep you in our prayers.  We hope that your vacation, trips, and summer activities will be restful and fruitful.  Please keep us in your prayers as well.
From time to time over the summer, I will send out some opportunities for summer service help for parents who want to get a jump start on their service hours.
Also, please read carefully the email below and please do all that you can to support the Nguyen Family.
May God bless all of you!
Sister Ellen Marie

Caring for Carly

On behalf of Carly and the entire Nguyen family, we want to say "thank you" to all of you for your prayers, gifts, donations, visits, etc.  At Elizabeth Seton High School, we are truly a family, and your support has been a testament to this. Carly is going to need a bone marrow transplant and our immediate goal is to help her find a perfect match who will become her bone marrow donor.  We must act rather quickly since Carly will need to have her transplant by the end of June.

Please click here to access a flyer regarding Carly and a donor drive that we are hosting at Elizabeth Seton High School this Friday, June 5 from 8:00am-12:00pm.  People in need of a bone marrow transplant are most likely to find a perfect match with someone who is of the same race and ethnicity as the patient. We are most interested in testing members of the Vietnamese community and/or other Asian communities (ages 18-44 are preferred). The entire test to determine if you are a match for Carly takes less than 5 minutes. Please help us to spread the word.  Please email Ms. Melissa Davey at mdavey@setonhs.org if you have any questions.

We have created a "Caring for Carly" google document for families who wish to sign up to provide a meal/gift card, prayer, visit and/or card/note to Carly and her family.  Please click here to access the google document and click  here to read the directions regarding the document and what opportunities are available to support Carly and her family.

Christine Nguyen, Carly's sister, has created a "gofundme" page for the family. Please click here to access Carly's "gofundme" page.  Please consider a monetary donation to help the family offset Carly's medical bills.

Please click here to see the youtube video created during our school wide "Orange" day to support Carly and to raise Leukemia awareness.

Year of Consecrated Life

Pope Francis I has designated this year as the Year of Consecrated Life.  In doing so, he has asked people to become more familiar with consecrated life and its gift to the church.  At Seton, we are blessed to have the Daughters of Charity who live a consecrated life.  In keeping with the Pope's wish, we are sharing the many facets of consecrated life with our students every Tuesday on our television in the student lobby.  Each week in Parent Announce, we will share this information with you.
