Dear Seton Family,
Today our school was blessed to have Fr. Paul Dressler, OFM, with us for an assembly in which we renewed our firm commitment to the blessing of our diversity, the strength of our community, and our need to listen to both God and others. We are moving forward in the words of Fr. Paul, to be Good Samaritans to one another and to work toward justice and kindness and charity in our own lives. Please join us in continued prayer for one another.

Parents, please check with your senior students to be sure that they bring their college acceptance letters and scholarship letters in to Guidance to be copied this week if they haven't already done so. The Guidance Office has a tradition of compiling a scholarship list that is posted in the Guidance hallway and in the Baccalaureate Program. We cannot put an acceptance or scholarship on the list without proof from the school or scholarship organization. As of this date, we still have many acceptance and scholarship letters that have not been turned into Guidance.

In preparation for next year, we would like to share the approved uniform details with you for the 2015-2016 school year. For our returning families, you may notice the addition of a school blazer, as well as the distinction between a spring/summer uniform and a winter uniform. Flynn and O'Hara will remain our uniform provider. They will be hosting a Private School Night at their Lanham, MD location on Thursday, June 18, 2015. More details regarding this event will be included in future parent announces. Representatives from Flynn and O'Hara will be at Elizabeth Seton during all lunches on Monday, May 4, Wednesday, May 6, and Friday, May 8 to measure your daughters for the school blazer. Please encourage your daughters to be fitted during these times so that the uniform company can order the proper number to keep in stock. Payment will not be due at the time of measurement. Please click here for the detailed breakdown of all the uniform options. Please contact Melissa Davey, Dean of Admissions, at mdavey@setonhs.org with any questions or concerns.

You Have Shared and We Have Listened
Some parents have shared their feedback regarding the new uniform policy for the 2015-2016 school year. The leadership team has addressed your concerns. Please review the following updates to next year's school uniforms: 1. Members of the Class of 2016 can wear their gray sweaters, fleece jackets and socks as a senior privilege. 2. We encourage members of the Class of 2017 and 2018 to leave their school blazers on the hooks in their lockers. As a way to get more use out of the previously purchased uniform fleeces, we suggest that students wear them to and from school on chilly days. If you have any questions please contact Melissa Davey at mdavey@setonhs.org.

Pope Francis I has designated this year as the Year of Consecrated Life. In doing so, he has asked people to become more familiar with consecrated life and its gift to the church. At Seton, we are blessed to have the Daughters of Charity who live a consecrated life. In keeping with the Pope's wish, we are sharing the many facets of consecrated life with our students every Tuesday on our television in the student lobby. Each week in Parent Announce, we will share this information with you. Here are the first two weeks. Please click on each slide to enlarge.
