The 24 Hours for the Lord

Elizabeth Seton High School invites The Seton Community and their friends and families to join Pope Francis and the worldwide community in prayer.  Please click here to find out how you can sign up for time of prayer and adoration in the Seton Chapel from 6:00am on March 13 to 6:00am on March 14.

Music Boosters Meeting

Dear Music families, please join us for a Music Boosters meeting on Tuesday, March 10, at 6:30 pm in the Band Room. We will discuss upcoming music activities and events, including the Pops Concert scheduled for April 24-26. As a reminder, you earn service hours for attending Music Boosters meetings. We hope to see you on March 10!

Mock Trial

For the first time in its history, Elizabeth Seton High School has two teams entered in the Maryland State Bar Association's High School Mock Trial Competition. The teams have thus far competed against high schools from Prince George's County. In the first round, both team records were strong enough to see the teams advance to the "sweet sixteen" matches, held at the Court House in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. In this next phase of the competition, the winner will be crowned champion of the Seventh Judicial Circuit, which includes high schools from Prince George's, Charles, Calvert, and St. Mary's Counties. The Circuit winner then goes on to compete against the other Circuit winners from around the state.

Team One from ESHS is actually seeded first for the circuit matches. In the first match (and based on Mock Trial rules), the teams from Seton will be pitted against each other, guaranteeing that one team will be eliminated and the other team will advance to the "elite eight." That showdown match will take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2015.

Year of Consecrated Life

Pope Francis I has designated this year as the Year of Consecrated Life.  In doing so, he has asked people to become more familiar with consecrated life and its gift to the church.  At Seton, we are blessed to have the Daughters of Charity who live a consecrated life.  In keeping with the Pope's wish, we are sharing the many facets of consecrated life with our students every Tuesday on our television in the student lobby.  Each week in Parent Announce, we will share this information with you.  Here are the first two weeks. Please click on each slide to enlarge.

Senior Parents - Graduation Information

Graduation Announcements (for those who ordered through our Jostens rep) will be distributed to Seniors on Wednesday, April 15th during lunches. Tuition must be paid in full in order to receive the order. Jostens has sent reminders to families who still owe for the announcements themselves. Please contact Mrs. Lindsey Glamp Beeler at lindsey.glamp@jostens.com if you have questions regarding payment.

The Graduation fee must also be paid in order to receive announcements. Please contact Sister Dorothy if you have any questions regarding tuition or the fee.

Update on Technology

Elizabeth Seton High School is proud to announce that beginning with the freshmen class of 2019, we will be initiating a 1 to 1 personal technology program, wherein freshmen will lease a MacBook Air Laptop fully loaded with applications and software that will be used in class and at home.  The Class of 2019 is piloting this program for us, which will allow us to continually monitor and evaluate our efforts so that eventually the entire student body will have this advantage.  Please click here to visit our website for further information.

College Tour

On Thursday March 5th Seton will welcome the Jesuit Excellence Tour (JET).
Representatives from approximately 20 Jesuit colleges from all over the country will be in Seton's auditorium from 11:30-12:30. Juniors who have lunch during this time are expected to attend and sophomores are welcome also.

JET also has two evening events - Monday March 2nd from 6:30-8 pm at Loyola Blakefield in Towson and Thursday March 5th from 7-8:30 at Georgetown Preparatory School on Rockville Pike in North Bethesda. Please ask your daughter to come to guidance if you would like more information about these events.

Golf Tournament

Elizabeth Seton High School invites you to join us for this very special annual event by registering your foursome and signing up for one of the tax-deductible sponsorships . The proceeds of our tournament will be used to renovate the school track and field, which today services our students in physical education classes and in our sports teams. We are in need of a brand new track worthy of Seton's renowned track team, which has won the WCAC Championships for eight consecutive years. We are also in need of a turf field to support our students who play soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey.
