ATTENTION PARENTS: Let's make our Maryland Legislative Body Work for Us Right now the Maryland Legislative Assembly is reviewing a bill that would mean more money for non-public schools to be used for tuition assistance, facilities, and educational improvements. The Maryland Education Credit Bill needs to be passed so that businesses can receive a 60% tax credit for donations made to Elizabeth Seton High School. We have many businesses who presently give to Seton without such an advantage. They would be motivated to give more and we could give more to your daughter if this benefit was available Please see that attached flier of what you as a parent can do to make this happen. TAKE THE PLEDGE AND LET'S GET THE MOST FOR OUR CHILDREN! Please click here to view attached flier.

In the summer of 2016 Mrs. Melissa Valentine will be taking 8 Seton students on a 2 week trip to work with scientists in the field, collecting data on the Island of Dominica. One week will be spent in the rainforest and one week will be on the coast studying the coral reef of this beautiful Caribbean island. We will be working with Operation Wallacea which has research sites like this one all around the world. This is not a vacation, but it will be an amazing experience. Students will learn research techniques and the data collected will be used in research publications. This can help the students stand out on their college applications! This trip is open to current Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors but there are only 8 spots! The cost of the trip is approximately $3,400 and includes all travel, meals, accommodations, training, and even emergency medical and evacuation insurance. (This is a high estimate because the exact cost of the flights is unknown at this time). There will be fundraising opportunities and the organization will set up a payment plan for each student. The trip dates are June 13 - 25, 2016. Please see the link below for more information and contact Mrs. Valentine with any questions at mvalentine@setonhs.org. We have until Friday January 30th to put together a list of interested students so please contact Mrs. Valentine by the 30th if you are interested! http://opwall.com/sixth-form-high-school/locations/dominica-school-expeditions/
