Session 3:    5:00 pm - Meeting in Room 117

Sister Ellen Marie has raised another $50,000.00 toward her goal. She now has $200,000.00 of her $400,000.00.

We need your help in matching her and more importantly, we need your help to give our Seton young women the very best.

Parent - Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher Conferences
Thursday, November 6, 2014
2:30-4:30
5:30-7:00 p.m.

  • Bring your daughter's report card or her schedule with you.  These documents have the names of her teachers on them.
  • Stop in the student lobby for a map that identifies where the teachers are located for conferences.
  • If the teacher is engaged with another parent, wait a respectful distance away for your turn. It may not be possible to see all of your daughter's teachers.  Select 3 or 4 that you REALLY, REALLY wish to see.
  • Conferences are designed to be a BRIEF communication between a parent and a teacher.
  • Each conference should last no longer than 5 minutes.  If you have major concerns about your daughter's progress, schedule an appointment with the teacher for another day so that sufficient time can be devoted to her.  Please be considerate of others in regard to time.
  • Conferences will be concluded promptly at 4:30 p.m.  At this time faculty members will have a dinner break.  Please conclude your discussion when the announcement is made that the conferences are over.  Following a dinner break for faculty, conferences will resume at 5:30 p.m.
  • If you do not get to see all of your daughter's teachers, call them or e-mail them, and they will call or e-mail you back.

November Remembrance

Dear Seton Family,
As the fall season approaches, the Catholic Church celebrates two very important feast days: All Saints Day and All Souls Day. Traditionally, this has been the time when we pray for those who are now deceased, but who have impacted our lives forever.
On these two days, we would like to pray for your loved ones at the masses celebrated at Elizabeth  Seton High School. Throughout the month of November, we would like to continue our prayer for your deceased family, friends, and members of the Seton Community by placing your names at the foot of the altar in the chapel where they will be remembered at morning and evening prayer and at every mass in the chapel.
Seton is a family, and it is our privilege to pray for your loved ones. We promise to pray for you, also, as a way to express our love and gratitude for one another.
We invite you to click on the link below and place on the enclosed form any names of family members, friends, or alumnae for whom you would like us to pray.
Let us use this month of November in which we celebrate Thanksgiving to thank God for all those who have gone before us, especially those who have left us an example of goodness and generosity.  May we be like-minded with them and one  with them in spirit and prayer!

May God bless each of you with the "light to know and the grace to do".
Gratefully,
Sister Ellen Marie Hagar '74
President

Senior Yearbook

First deadline for senior yearbook ads is now Monday, Nov. 3.

Hello, parents and supporters of the 2014 graduates of Elizabeth Seton High School!

As explained at the meeting for senior parents on Sept. 25, you may send good wishes to your graduate with an "ad" in this year's yearbook. You have two options for doing so: online through our publisher or through our yearbook staff.

If you would like our yearbook staff to create your ad, your deadline is approaching! You must have your materials (photographs and copy for the ad, as well as a check for your payment) to us no later than Monday, Nov. 3. (This includes a one-week extension from the original deadline of Monday, Oct. 27.)  The attached PDF has more details about this option. Please click here to view PDF.

If you would like to create an ad yourself, you may do so online until Monday, Nov. 24. The attached PDF has instructions from the company about how to do so. Please click here to view PDF. Please note that Seton's yearbook will include only 1/4 and 1/2 page ads.

Please also note that we are setting aside only 26 pages for senior ads. That space will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Please act soon!

If you have any questions, please contact the yearbook adviser, Dr. Anne Carroll, at acarroll@setonhs.org.  Thank you!

Soroptimist Violet Richardson Award

Soroptimist Violet Richardson Award - It's What You Do That Counts!
Are you a young woman between the ages of 14 and 17 who volunteers in your community or school? Who sees challenges instead of obstacles? Hope instead of despair? If you are a young woman who believes in the power of volunteer action, then you may be eligible to win a Soroptimist Violet Richardson Award. The Violet Richardson Award recognizes young women who make the community and world a better place through volunteer efforts such as: fighting drugs, crime and violence; cleaning up the environment; and working to end discrimination and poverty. Volunteer actions that benefit women or girls are of particular interest. Soroptimist is an organization of women whose members volunteer in their communities, often working on the same problems that you do. Although we realize that volunteering is its own reward, we also know it feels good to be recognized for your actions. And that's why we sponsor this award. Visit http://www.soroptimist.org/whoweare/program-violet-richardson-award.html for information and visit http://www.soroptimist.org/members/program/programdocs/violetrichardsonaward/english/vraapplication-writeable.pdf for the application.
