Teachers are beginning to come in this week and the school is getting ready to welcome all of our families to a new school year. We are all in joyful anticipation of seeing our students and starting a wonderful school year. Enjoy the last few days before your cars come to 57th St.

Please keep the Bergeron Family in your prayers as they mourn the passing of Ernie Begeron. Ernie's wife, Marge, worked for Seton for 25 years, and Ernie did so much to make his family a part of the Seton Community.

1. All fees must be paid August 21st in order for students to attend class on August 26.
2. All families who are paying monthly must be registered in FACTS and must have at least two months of tuition paid by August 26.
3. All families who are paying in one annual payment or two semi-annual payments must have their first payment paid by August 26.
4, Students whose families have not met these tuition requirements will not be permitted to attend class on August 27.

Parents, make sure to check with your daughters regarding summer assignments. These can be found on our website under Academics/Summer Assignments. All students have summer reading work to complete, and many have math work to complete.
Remind students to check their Seton email periodically for messages from teachers.

Seton students are able to participate in either Elizabeth Seton's or DeMatha's bus routes. Please click here for more information and to complete the required forms.

Seton Cross Country Fundraiser
Tuesday, August 19, 5:30pm-9:00pm, the Seton Cross Country team is sponsoring a fundraiser at the Roadrunner Sports store at 6630 Marie Curie Dr, Elkridge, MD 21075. The team earns money for the number of people who participate in our team night. Come on out and try on a few pairs of shoes, or stock up on other exercise equipment.

Your daughter now has the privilege of wearing an official, Senior only, uniform shirt. It is a white polo with burgundy writing that says, "Elizabeth Seton Class of 2015". These polos may be purchased in any of the Flynn O'hara stores or online on their website. If you wish to order online, simply sign up and login at www.flynnohara.com/register and purchase it right from the website. The University of Maryland is offering a Pre-College program for 11th grade students. The Clark School of Engineering's Pre-College Scholars Program at the University of Maryland is designed to recruit talented students to consider exciting engineering careers. It will prepare students to perform well on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (S.A.T.) and provide students and families with the tools and strategies necessary to navigate the college application process. The program will recruit students in the 11th grade who have an interest in and aptitude for mathematics, science and/or engineering. Please click here for full details.

There will be a mandatory track and field meeting August 28th at 6:30 p.m. in Seton's cafeteria.

Group runs continue. These non-mandatory runs provide an opportunity for cross-country athletes to train with their teammates in preparations for the fall season. Please email Coach Louisa Puffett ( coach@puffett.com) if you have any questions. The group run schedule is as follows: Tuesdays from 5:30p to 7p at Greenbelt Park (meet in the Sweetgum parking lot), Thursdays from 5:50p to 7p at Buddy Attick Park (Greenbelt Lake) (meet near the parking lot), and Saturdays from 8a to 9:30a at Greenbelt Park (meet in the Sweetgum parking lot). If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, you are welcome to begin your run on your own as we will already be hitting the trails.

Please note that every athlete must have a physical on file and must attend EVERYDAY of tryouts in order to make a team.

Our summer hours are now 9 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday. We are collecting Fees, distributing book sale envelopes and selling used books. We currently have 9th Grade Literature, Biology, Honors Biology, Algebra 1, Environmental Science, Latin, AP Stats, AP Calculus, Thinking Mathematically, Business Communications and The American Pageant. If your daughter wishes to try out for a sport during the next school year, she must have a new physical performed after June 1, 2014 on file in the clinic. Please use the official Seton form which can be found on our website under athletics or admissions. (Please click here to view form.) When the form is completed by your daughter's physician, please mail it to the attention of the clinic at Seton.
