Tuition Payments Due

June marks the beginning of monthly tuition payments for school year 2014-2015.
It is our policy that all families must have two months of tuition paid by August 26, the first day of school in order for their daughter to attend class.  All families who have not made a June payment must make payments in July and August. There is no exception to this policy.
All families who are paying tuition in one or two payments for the entire year must have their payment made by the first day of school as well.

SAT Prep Class

Seton will hold an SAT Prep. class this summer--July 21--25 (8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.)  The cost is $350.00.  To enroll, contact Mrs. Burke lburke@setonhs.org by June 27th.

Work Permits

Work permits may be obtained in the Guidance Office over the summer. To obtain access to a work permit form on the Seton website, go to the Academics tab and click on Guidance.  Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the bottom link for Work Permits.  This takes you to the Department of Labor website.  Follow the complete directions for "Teen." You will be instructed to print and fill out a hard copy of the work permit application, which must be signed by the student, parent and employer.  The next step is to follow directions to complete the online application on the Department of Labor website (located on the form) and print out a receipt.  The completed form and the receipt may then be taken to the Guidance Office for processing.
 
Guidance Office hours are from 9:00 am to 11:30 am Monday through Thursday. 

Used Book Sale Information

Our annual Used Book and Uniform Sale will be held Saturday, July 19th from 9 am to 1 pm in the auditorium.  Please drop off your books for sale in the main office July 14th thru July 18th between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm.  Please see the "how to" information on our web site under Quick Links and then Parents.  (or click here) Please also check the list of books that cannot be sold at the sale this year.  The booklist for 2014 - 2015 will also be under Quick Links and then Parents by next week.

Please note that every athlete must have a physical on file and must attend EVERYDAY of tryouts in order to make a team.

College Access Conference

College Access Conference at The University of Maryland
The University of Maryland will host their 15th annual College Access Conference on Saturday, June 28 from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the Adele H. Stamp Student Union.  The conference offers guidance to under represented and first generation rising juniors and seniors as they prepare to navigate the college admission process.

Second Annual Friends of the Poor Walk

When? Sat. Sept. 20, 2014  -  9 to 11 AM
Where?  Elizabeth Seton High School Track
How?  Register on line at http://www.fopwalk.org
Why?    Believing that education can break the cycle of poverty, the money from this year's WALK will provide scholarships for children in Haiti.
What's in it for me? Minimum $5 registration fee and attendance = 2 service hours and a t-shirt for the first 100 preregistered walkers.

Intelligence and National Security Profession

The Intelligence Center of Academic Excellence at the University of Maryland (ICAE@M) College Park is  accepting applications for its summer high school outreach program, July 15-17 2014. The goal of the program is to encourage students (grades 10-12) to consider careers across the full spectrum of  intelligence and national security professions.

This 3-day, non-residential camp will feature seminars, field trips, and discussions about cybersecurity, CIA, international diplomacy, foreign languages, STEM etc. Selected applicants will receive a stipend after successfully completing 3-day program. Class of 2014 - Graduation Photographs

Class of 2014!  Victor O'Neill Studios will be photographing each senior as they receive their diploma at graduation. Within just a few days graduates and their families will be able to go online to view/order their pictures. The graduation picture, candid photographs and senior panoramic will be available for purchase. Just go to: www.vosphoto.com/grads, find your school, then select the photos you like!  Email Mrs. Thompson with questions: gthompson@setonhs.org.

Athletics

If your daughter wishes to try out for a sport during the next school year, she must have a new physical performed after June 1, 2014 on file in the clinic. Please use the official Seton form which can be found on our website under athletics or admissions. (Please click here to view form.) When the form is completed by your daughter's physician, please mail it to the attention of the clinic at Seton.
