Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Thursday, November 14, 2013
2:30-4:30
5:30-7:00 p.m.
- Bring your daughter's report card or her schedule with you. These documents have the names of her teachers on them.
- Stop in the student lobby for a map that identifies where the teachers are located for conferences.
- If the teacher is engaged with another parent, wait a respectful distance away for your turn. It may not be possible to see all of your daughter's teachers. Select 3 or 4 that you REALLY, REALLY wish to see.
- Conferences are designed to be a BRIEF communication between a parent and a teacher.
- Each conference should last no longer than 5 minutes. If you have major concerns about your daughter's progress, schedule an appointment with the teacher for another day so that sufficient time can be devoted to her. Please be considerate of others in regard to time.
- Conferences will be concluded promptly at 4:30 p.m. At this time faculty members will have a dinner break. Please conclude your discussion when Mrs. Pasterick announces that the conferences are over. Conferences will resume at 5:30 p.m.
- If you do not get to see all of your daughter's teachers, call them or e-mail them, and they will call or e-mail you back.

This could mean a turf field or more financial aid for our students.
On November 20, 2013, Elizabeth Seton High School has been selected to host the Legislative Open House at 7:00pm. We will also be asking our representatives to support proposed tax credits for businesses who invest in nonpublic education. If this tax credit were to pass, it would mean many more dollars for our students and for our academic program. This could be the beginning of our turf field as businesses could give to this. Legislative representatives will only be able to see how much this funding means to our school if our parents are there networking with the legislature. Please give a night of your time to support funding for Seton. For more information, please click here to see the enclosed flier.

Music Boosters - Dance Marathon
Dance Marathon (Saturday, November 23) is coming up quickly. We hope that your daughter's fundraising efforts are well underway. Remember that there are opportunities this year to win prizes if your daughter turns in all of her pledge money on the day of the Dance Marathon. See the Music Boosters webpage (under the Fine Arts tab) for details. If your daughter needs extra pledge forms, they are available from each of the music teachers and on the Music Boosters webpage. Remember that donations may be made online: from Seton's website, go to the Fine Arts tab and click Dance Marathon. If you have any questions about who has already made a pledge online for your daughter, contact Melinda Chen at Melinda.chen@gmail.com. Help us make the Dance Marathon evening an enjoyable and safe event for your daughter. Sign up to volunteer at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080A4DA5AB2DA75-dance. We especially need parents who can help with parking and safely crossing the girls and their guests between Seton and overflow parking at Port Towns Elementary School. Thank you so much for your generous support!

Student Service Hours - Portal
We had hoped that student service hours would be viewed online this year through the portal, however the system does not provide us with the amount of detail we would like. Therefore, all student service hours will be recorded in the database that we have been using the past several years. Students will receive a paper copy of their service record at the end of the first semester and can check in with Mrs. Tarnosky anytime they would like to view their record.
