Important Parent Meeting

Important PARENT MEETING
On November 20, 2013, Elizabeth Seton High School has been selected to host the Legislative Open House at 7:00pm.  Members of the Maryland General Assembly will be here to see what Seton has been doing with the funding we have received for the Textbook and Technology Program.
Students will be speaking to members of the legislative assembly about the academic advancement of our school.  We will also be asking our representatives to support proposed tax credits for businesses who invest in nonpublic education.  If this tax credit were to pass, it would mean many more dollars for our students and for our academic program.  Legislative representatives will only be able to see how much this funding means to our school if our parents are there in great numbers.  Please give a night of your time to support funding for Seton.  For more information, please click here to see the enclosed flier.

Yearbook "ad" for 2014 Graduates

Hello, parents and supporters of the 2014 graduates of Elizabeth Seton High School!

As explained at the meeting for senior parents on Sept. 26, you may send good wishes to your graduate with an "ad" in this year's yearbook. You have two options for doing so: online through our publisher or through our yearbook staff.

If you would like our yearbook staff to create your ad, your deadline is approaching! You must have your materials (photographs and copy for the ad, as well as a check for your payment) to us no later than Monday, Nov. 11. Please click here for more details about this option.

If you would like to create an ad yourself, you may do so online until Monday, Dec. 2. Please click here for instructions from the company about how to do so. Please note that Seton's yearbook will include only 1/4 and 1/2 page ads.

Please also note that we are setting aside only 30 pages for senior ads. That space will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Please act soon!

If you have any questions, please contact the yearbook adviser, Dr. Anne Carroll, at acarroll@setonhs.org.  Thank you!

CPR

Seton will be offering a CPR/AED class for students on Friday January 24th at 1:45. (This is a 1:30 dismissal day.) The cost is $30 per person (cash only) and the class will last about 2 hours. We will focus on correct CPR techniques, use of an external automatic defibrillator, and choking. Your daughter will come away with CPR/AED certification and valuable skills that, someday, could save a life.
Please e-mail our school nurse, Jeanne Daly, at jdaly@setonhs.org to register or get more information. The class will be limited to the first 30 students who register and pay.

Math Support

Parents - All Elizabeth Seton High School students are eligible to enroll in free online math tutoring through http://www.studybuddyhelp.org/.
Please ask your daughter to check her email for the registration email or see Mrs. Roeder in guidance.

Changes in After School Quiet Time

Parents, in order to provide students with enough time to have a snack and then maximize computer usage and quiet time after school, students will now be able to stay in the cafeteria until 3:30 p.m. on regular dismissal days and 2:15 p.m. on 1:30 p.m. dismissal days.  Students will then have the choice of moving to the library, computer lab 220 and computer lab 223 if they are not in a sports or club activity.  At 5:00 p.m., the second floor rooms will close and all remaining students will be brought to the library.

The Main Office will remain open until 5:00 p.m. After 5:00 p.m., students will have to watch for their ride since the Main Office will be closed.  Please be sure to communicate pick up times with your student to avoid unnecessary delays.  Thank you.
