Parent Meeting

Re-Registration

Re-Registration:  Are you ready???
Re-registration begins next week.  Students will be called to the cafeteria during advisory to submit their re-registration forms and their payments.  Please print out the forms by following the link below.  Once, we have a student's re-registration forms, we begin building her schedule.  Students can lose out on the classes they want to take, if we do not receive their forms according to the following dates:
April 15 - Present Juniors, Class of 2014
April 16 - Present Sophomores, Class of 2015
April 17 - Present Freshmen, Class of 2016

Concert Choir Cabaret

That's right, Seton Concert Choir's biennial showcase has returned.  The theme this year is "I Heard It On the Radio." The show will feature ensembles and soloists performing hits from Elvis and Michael Jackson to Beyonce and Adele.  Come check out our students' vocal talent and hard work! Shows are Friday and Saturday, April 19 and 20, at 7:30 pm and Sunday, April 21, at 2:00 pm.  Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students (K-12) and Seton faculty and staff.  Snacks and drinks are included. Note: tickets must be bought in advance, and seating will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, so don't delay!  To purchase tickets, contact Mrs. Wilson in Guidance at bwilson@setonhs.org.  For more information, contact Holly Foley at foleyh@gmail.com.

Please find below the link to a new publication that is beginning for our students. Our new Director of Educational Advancement, Joan Ozdogan, will craft this newsletter quarterly so that our students can begin to explore the educational pathway to careers of their interest.

Sophomore Parents - Class Ring

Today the Sophomore Class received their class ring ordering packet from our Josten's representative, Mrs. Lindsey Beeler. All information necessary for ordering is in the packet. Families wishing to order a class ring have a number of options. For your convenience, Jostens will be available to answer any questions, share sample rings and take orders in the school Library on Wednesday, April 17th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. This is not a mandatory meeting.  You may also choose to order on line or send in the order with your daughter on the 18th or 19th (Jostens will be here during all lunches).  The class will receive their rings at the ceremony next fall. Golf Tournament

Knights of Columbus Golf Tournament
On Thursday, April  11, the Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a golf tournament.  Some of the proceeds are used for scholarships for Catholic Education.  Tee off time is 1:00 at Glen Dale Golf Course.  For more information, please contact Steve Kemp at 301-237-8098

Essay Contest

ESSAY CONTEST OPEN TO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

The St. Charles Borromeo Philippine Medical Mission in Arlington, Virginia is announcing its 2013 student essay contest.

The contest is open to all U.S. based high school students, including home schooled students. The theme is "We are one human family and loving our neighbor has global implications". The contest encourages students to reflect on the value of caring for the poor in faith and charity. Essays must be 300 to 400 words, in English, typewritten and double spaced. Students must register with their name, email address, grade level, school name, city, state and teacher/advisor name at pmm@stcharleschurch.org no later than May 17, 2013. Students can send their essay as an attachment on email. Essays will be judged on embodiment of the theme, comprehension, organization, creativity and writing skills (grammar/punctuation/spelling).

The first prize winner will receive $200, the second prize winner $100 and the third prize winner $50. Limit one entry per student. Previous winners are not eligible to participate. The winner will be announced on SCBPMM's facebook page and website on June 15, 2013.

SAT Test

Parent Club Scholarship

Service Scholarship
The Marion T. "Mr. Bill"  Service Scholarship is now available on the website to apply for under the Parent Club Organization. This scholarship is given to an applicant that has completed service above and beyond what is required by the school. Application deadline is  APRIL 16, 2013, applications must be complete to be considered.  Please click here to view form.

Junior and Sophomore Parents

If your daughter is interested in and planning to apply to Temple University or St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, please have her see her counselor as soon as possible.
The guidance department is planning a one day tour of these schools on Wednesday May 1st for the low cost of only $20.00. Price includes lunch and transportation.
Names will be taken on a first come, first served basis and the list will close on April 16th.

Seniors - Twilight Cruise

Permission slips and money for the Parent Club sponsored Twilight Cruise scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 4-6 p.m. are due to the Main Office ASAP - there is still time. If you would like some summer work and have high energy and are an outgoing student then please read the attached flyer. The hours are really flexible for students involved in sports or have other commitments.

SAFEWAY RECEIPTS/ESCRIP - If you have a Safeway Card, you may register for the Escrip rewards program and Seton will receive cash for your purchases! You may register your card at www.escrip.com. Elizabeth Seton's number is 148894953. If you are renewing, simply click the "YES RENEW!" icon and you will automatically be reregistered. You may also register your credit cards with escrip and each purchase by those cards will create a cash amount for Seton.

TARGET REDCARD -If you have a Target RedCard, you may designate Seton to receive 1% of your purchases under their Take Charge of Education program. You can register at www.Target.com/tcoe or calling 1-800-316-6142. Elizabeth Seton's ID under the program is 17895.

FOOD LION -If you have a MVP Card, register your MVP card for their MVP Classroom Rewards program online at www.Foodlion.com. Click on "MVP Rewards" link or call 877-614-6877. You need to re-register each year. Elizabeth Seton's ID under the program is 211570.

HARRIS TEETER -If you shop at Harris Teeter or their related stores, please register or renew your registration for their Together in Education program. You can register or renew by logging in at www.harristeeter.com under Together in Education/Link to Your School or providing Seton's ID number to the cashier at the register when checking out. Elizabeth Seton's ID under the program is 7587.
