This is to notify all parents that Friday, February 15th will be a Professional Day for teachers.  There will be no classes for students.

We now have $14,000.00. We need more parents to come and help us work this month's phonathon:  There is one more night - TOMORROW January 31.

Parent Club

ARTIFICIAL CHRISTMAS TREES
Thank to all who responded, we now have the amount we need.

Father Daughter Dance
Volunteers are needed to help with the dance.  Volunteers would help assemble keepsakes prior to the event, decorate the morning of the dance, or work at the actual event and help with clean-up.  Anyone wishing to get service hours helping with this fun event can contact me Debbie Jackson deborahjackson4113@verizon.net for further details.


SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP

The Marion T. "Mr. Bill"  Service Scholarship is now available on the website to apply for under the Parent Club Organization. This scholarship is given to an applicant that has completed service above and beyond what is required by the school. Application deadline is  APRIL 16,2013, applications must be complete to be considered.  Please click here to view form.
We are looking for 2 or 3 parents to help on the scholarship committee. Please contact  Mary Ann Vaughan mvaughan@ipcmclean.org to sign up for this committee. This will go towards your hours for service.

SATURDAY MAY 4,2013......SETON CASINO ROYALE!!!!!
This is going to be a fun adult evening of playing some of your favorite casino games!  Black Jack, Texas Hold 'em, etc...you don't know how to play???  The dealers will teach you any game you want to learn!  Proceeds will go towards the improvement and upgrade of the cafeteria. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!  We are looking for people to CHAIR  a couple of the committees for the Casino Royale.  Food, Beverage, Decorations and  Sponsorship are the committees.  Please contact Gina Barley gbarley@verison.net.  ONLY IF YOU WILL CHAIR A COMMITTEE!! 

9th and 10th Grade Parents

From the Guidance Department
9th and 10th grade parents are invited to a parent coffee, on Thursday February 14th in the library at 7:30 a.m. After the presentation, your daughter's counselor will be available to answer any questions you may have.

Ninth grade parents please note that your students recently received their standardized test results from the EXPLORE test they took in October and we finished a series of study skills lessons.

Lacrosse Meeting Needed

There will be a lacrosse interest meeting on Monday January 28, at 6pm in the Brooks Center.  The meeting is for newcomers, returning lacrosse players and parents.
If you can not attend the meeting and wish to get information about lacrosse try-outs and the season, email Coach Russell at aruss1201@gmail.com

Crew Meeting

There will be a crew parent meeting on February 7th at 6:00 pm in room 135 in the Brooks Center for all parents whose daughter's are interested in joining the crew team

Music Boosters

This year's Chamber Music Recital will be Friday, February 8, 2013 at 7:30 PM.  We are looking forward to an enjoyable evening of music performed by our orchestra and a selection of our band students.
Please help us celebrate our wonderful musicians with a cookies and punch reception immediately following the recital.

Sophomore Parents

The Guidance Department has created a new program for sophomores and their parents entitled "Sophomore Reflections".  This program will provide an opportunity for you and your daughter to meet with Mrs. Lawhorne, Sophomore Guidance Counselor, to reflect on the achievements of your daughter's first two years at Seton and to set goals for her final two years.  For the full letter sent home to parents please click here.  Contact Amanda Lawhorne at 301-864-4532 or alawhorne@setonhs.org to schedule your meeting time.

Senior Parents

If you are applying for the Guaranteed Access Grant.
Your daughter will need a transcript. She will also need a Guidance Counselor Certification Form which also needs to be completed. Both are available in the Guidance Office.
Students will have to log on to MDCAPS at https://mdcaps.mhec.state.md.us, create a student account, activate that account and then log in to complete the application.
Students will still be required to submit their official HS transcript (through the Fall semester of their senior year) and a guidance counselor certification form,

Each time you shop at Giant from October 5, 2012 through March 28, 2013, Elizabeth Seton will have the opportunity to earn cash! SAFEWAY RECEIPTS/ESCRIP - If you have a Safeway Card, you may register for the Escrip rewards program and Seton will receive cash for your purchases! You may register your card at www.escrip.com. Elizabeth Seton's number is 148894953. If you are renewing, simply click the "YES RENEW!" icon and you will automatically be reregistered. You may also register your credit cards with escrip and each purchase by those cards will create a cash amount for Seton.

TARGET REDCARD -If you have a Target RedCard, you may designate Seton to receive 1% of your purchases under their Take Charge of Education program. You can register at www.Target.com/tcoe or calling 1-800-316-6142. Elizabeth Seton's ID under the program is 17895.

FOOD LION -If you have a MVP Card, register your MVP card for their MVP Classroom Rewards program online at www.Foodlion.com. Click on "MVP Rewards" link or call 877-614-6877. You need to re-register each year. Elizabeth Seton's ID under the program is 211570.

HARRIS TEETER -If you shop at Harris Teeter or their related stores, please register or renew your registration for their Together in Education program. You can register or renew by logging in at www.harristeeter.com under Together in Education/Link to Your School or providing Seton's ID number to the cashier at the register when checking out. Elizabeth Seton's ID under the program is 7587.
