Home buyers say that one of the most desirable traits in a new home is plenty of storage, and having an organized place for everything. Here are three suggestions I think are clever and above and beyond the usual suggestion to purchase closet organizers or other such things.

1. Adapt the space between the studs in your garage to store tools (see photo).  Run a bungee cord across to hold your garden tools secure.
2. Slide baskets or bins under a bench in your front hallway.  Include one for each family member and label accordingly.
3. Organize your hall closet to get ready for fall jackets and winter coats.  Build shelves across the bottom for shoes and boots, and add baskets or bins for hats and gloves. Attach hooks to the inside of the door for tote bags and grocery bags.
