Home Maintenance Tip                                 July 2013
Greetings!
It drives me crazy when I see my neighbors' sprinklers running during a rain shower, or watering the street instead of their lawns.  Make your system more water-conserving and efficient:  Consider installing a shut-off device that automatically detects rain, and check your sprinkler heads to ensure they are directed towards your plants and lawn.  Also consider switching to drip irrigation, so the water will be focused on your plants, not the open spots in your garden.
Enjoy your summer, and stay cool,
Ken

For watering trees, small shrubs, flower beds and even containers, low volume drip irrigation will get right to the roots.  This has the benefit of not only conserving water but also avoiding evaporation, runoff and the development of weeds.
