Greetings!
I once had a very ugly encounter with a squirrel in our attic.  I finally chased it out, although it involved a lot of screaming on my part.  The technique described in the article cited below is much better: turn off the lights, close the curtains, then open a door or window so that the squirrel will head towards the light.  Wish I had seen this a few years ago!
