ACTION ALERT FOR IMMIGRATION REFORM
February 19, 2014

Dear Friends,

The USCCB has released an Action Alert asking everyone to contact their legislators this week to advocate for immigration reform.

Members of the House will be back home in their districts for the week-long Presidents' Day Recess. It's a wonderful opportunity for us to let our representatives know that we aren't giving up on immigration reform and we aren't going away. We are in this for the long-haul and we expect them to pass just and compassionate immigration reform before the end of the year!

Justice for Immigrants is mounting a week-long campaign to remind legislators that we care about immigration reform and we expect them to act.

Please join in the three days of action for compassionate and just immigration reform.

You can read the background on this issue and much more at the Hill Notes and Background webpage or read the USCCB Advocacy Issues Powerpoint.

Thanks for all you do!

Ways You Can Advocate for Issues

1. Call the district office with a supporting message.

2. Arrange a district office visit when Congress is in recess. Use links for the Hill Visits.

3. Use email contact forms to send the messages. You can find your representatives and senators at house.gov and senate.gov.

4. Put information in your parish bulletins encouraging others to support our message. You can use the background and message links that have been prepared. The message sheets can be left with the local offices if you do office visits.
