PCMS Host Informational Coffees for Rising 6th Grade Parents


Peachtree Charter Middle School invites all parents of 5th graders to informational coffees to learn more about PCMS and what you need to know to prepare your rising 6th grader for middle school.

The informational coffee will be held in the Media Center on January 19th at 9:00 am and in the cafeteria on Sunday, January 31st at 2:00 pm. The informational session will last 1 hour and will be followed by a school tour.
You will receive information about the summer bridge program offered to 6th graders to help with the transition to PCMS, typical 6th grade schedules, band/orchestra/choral offerings, daily PE and the accelerated math program. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions of the school's principal and teachers.
PCMS tours are offered to parents by appointment if you are not able to attend one of the meetings.

PCMS Te ofrece informacion y café para los padres de los estudiantes que se promotan al sexto 

Peachtree Charter Middle School invita a todos los padres de los estudiantes del quinto grado a informacional cafés para aprender más sobre PCMS y lo que necesita saber para preparar tu hijo(a) para el sexto grado. Este evento de informacion y café se llevará a cabo en el Centro de Medios de Comunicación, Martes el 19 de Enero a las 9 del la manana, y en la cafetería, Domingo el 31 de Enero a las 2 de la tarde. La sesión informativa tendrá una duración de 1 hora y será seguido por una gira/paseo de la escuela.

Usted recibirá información sobre el programa, que se llama el "puente de verano" adonde se ofrece a estudiantes del seis grado para ayudar con la transición a nuestro escuela secundaria, la programación típicos del seis grado , orquesta / el coro/ banda, PE diaria y el programa de matemáticas acelerado. Usted también tendrá la oportunidad de hacer preguntas al director y los maestros de la escuela.

Excursiones/Paseos de PCMS se ofrecen a los padres por la cita si usted no es capaz de asistir a uno de nuestro eventos de information y cafe.

PCMS Needs You!!


Are you looking for a significant way to contribute your time and talents to Peachtree Charter Middle School? Consider joining the PCMS Foundation Board!  The PCMS Foundation, Inc. is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated tosecuring long-term educational enhancements and health and wellness initiatives, promoting staff development, and supporting academic extracurricular activities for Peachtree Charter Middle School.  The Foundation is committed to maximizing faculty effectiveness as leaders and to supporting the students' academic and personal excellence.

The PCMS Foundation is looking for volunteers to serve on the Board of Directors for the coming school year (2016-2017).  We especially need volunteers with expertise in the accounting, legal, and marketing fields, but all backgrounds are welcome.  

If you have expertise in accounting, the PCMS Foundation is specifically looking for a Financial Secretary for the 2016-17 school year.  The Financial Secretary role is a two-year commitment and becomes the Treasurer for both the Foundation and the PTCC in the second year. These roles coordinate the check-out table at Registration including credit card machines, hosting payment posting events, and processing all payments made during Registration; deposit funds received throughout the school year on behalf of the Foundation; as part of the Annual Fund campaign, account for funds, manage thank you/tax letters to donors; write checks as needed on behalf of the Foundation; track the Foundation's funding of various projects; and develop and monitor the operating budget for the Foundation.  The Financial Secretary and Treasurer attend monthly PCMS Foundation meetings and PTCC meetings (usually 1-2 per month).

Peachtree Middle School Boys Basketball Team Finishes Second in Winter Break Tournament

PCMS Middle School Baseball Tryouts
 
PCMS 2016 Baseball Try Outs Will be held at Dunwoody High School Baseball Field on:

Tuesday 1/12 5:00 (registration 5-5:30)
Wednesday 1/13 5:30
Thursday 1/14 5:30

In the event of inclement weather, PCMS announcements will relay all updated weather info.
 
Please have your player at the fields 15 min early, in proper baseball attire, with all needed baseball equipment. Have their LAST NAME and GRADE visibly written on their outermost layer on their back (written directly on the shirt, or on masking tape).

Basketball players-The PCMS Basketball game takes priority on Wednesday.

All teams will be posted on the gym doors Friday by the following week.

Rising 9th Grader FOOTBALL Meeting at DHS

Coach Nash will be holding a parent meeting for all 8th graders who are interested in playing football in 9th grade. After school weight lifting, summer workouts, and calendar will be discussed. The meeting will take place at the high school on Thursday, January 14th at 6:30 p.m.

Boy's Soccer

7th and 8th grade boys interested in playing soccer, tryouts will be held January 13th, 14th and 15th. The time will be 4:30 - 6:00. Please bring running shoes, cleats and shin guards to try outs. 
JV Tennis Tryouts & 

DHS  Girls & Boys Varsity & JV Tennis Tryouts are Jan. 13-15 at the DHS tennis courts from 3:30-5:00 p.m. for boys and from 4:30-6:00 for girls. Teams will be selected after the conclusion of drills on Friday, January 15th.  

8th Graders are eligible to tryout for the JV teams.  Students interested should come directly from PCMS after school and join in when they arrive.  8th graders are not allowed to check out early for tryouts.  If necessary, the 8th grade boys will be allowed to stay later.  To be eligible to tryout, all students must have the following:
  • A GHSA Physical Form completed by your physician and parents.  (If you have participated on another team this year, your forms must be on file with DHS.)
  • Completed the on-line registration process.
Monday, January 11, 2016 is the deadline to complete on-line registration and turn in GHSA forms to Coach Gartner. 

To register and find a copy of the GHSA physical form, go to the team website at www.DunwoodyTennis.com.  The website can be accessed from any device, but in order to read all the information, it is best to register for tryouts from a desktop computer.

Girls Soccer

PCMS girls' soccer club tryouts will be held onJanuary 25th and 26th.  Grades 6-8 are eligible. There will be a meeting to discuss the soccer program on Wednesday  the 13th at 8:15 am in the media center. Parents and players should attend.  There will be two teams, an A and B that comprise 30 players.  This is a club team so fees will apply.  Practice/School games are played during the week and Church league games on weekends.

Track and Field

There will be an informational track and field meeting for 7th and 8th grade girls and boys on January 12th at 8:15am. The meeting will be held in the media center.
