Peachtree Announcements
Charter Update

Peachtree Charter Middle School was notified by the DCSD charter office that the charter review committee would recommend denial of the current petition to the Board of Education.  Peachtree was offered and did accept an additional opportunity to revise the petition and re-submit for approval on January 15, 2016.   

We are currently making suggested changes to autonomy requirements and will post the new petition in December for all parents to review over the December holiday break.  We will then ask that parents and staff again vote on the amended charter on January 8, 2016 from 7:00 am-5:00 pm in the Main Office. The number of votes cast, meaning participation by PCMS families and staff, is reviewed by DCSD to insure the community's approval and want of this petition and will be considered before a possible recommendation of approval can be given.
8th grade parents


Don't forget the Rising 9th grade Registration meetings at Dunwoody High School's Auditorium on Tuesday, December 1. At these meetings, you and your child will decide what diploma your child will aim toward. You will also decide on 9th grade courses.
Students and parents from Team Gazzola and Team Burdette meet at 5:30pm.
Students and parents from Team Posey and Team Moss meet at 7:00pm.
No Bullying

As part of Peachtree's on-going Anti-Bullying efforts, we reviewed information about bullying and cyber-bullying during our Teacher As Adviser (TAA) meeting on Thursday, 11/19 with 6th and 7th graders. Attached are the handouts we shared with them.

We all want our children to be safe and happy. Please review the handouts with your child. Have a safe Thanksgiving break.

Donations for Holidays

As we approach the Holidays, our Social Worker, Ms. Roque, is accepting donations of Gift Cards (KMart, Walmart, Target, Kroger, Publix, etc.) for Peachtree families in need. If you would like to make a donation, please bring the Gift Card(s) to Ms. Sellers in the Main Office, and log your donation into the system for Volunteer Hours. Thank you for your generosity.
PCMS Pet Rescue Club

The PCMS Pet Rescue Club is collecting donations throughout the holiday season to benefit homeless dogs at Georgia Jack Russell Rescue.  The donations bucket is in the lobby when you first enter the building. Please see Tammy Walden or Lily Goldstein for questions.
