Peachtree Charter Middle School would like to recognize the following students for receiving the School Climate Award in October:

Latin

There is a possibility of restarting a Latin class at Peachtree. The Latin program would consist of one Latin class for 8th graders next year. This class would be a Level I course taught in one year and students may earn one Carnegie unit (as opposed to two years for Spanish or French).

Attention 8th grade Parents!

The Counseling Office is now starting the high school advisement process. It is a two-step process:
Step 1: develop a 4-year Plan of Study for grades 9 through 12, and
Step 2: register for 9th grade classes and make a preliminary diploma choice.
 
The first part of the registration process is in Peachtree's Cafeteria during the school day onNovember 11th or 12th. Letters were sent home with students giving the date and time your child's class will meet. You and your child will develop the 4-year Plan for high school at this meeting. If you are unable to attend, your child will start the Plan on his/her own. This is a Plan, and is subject to change as your child progresses through high school.
 
The second part of the registration process will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Dunwoody High School's Auditorium. In that meeting, you and your child will make your initial diploma choice, and will fill out the Course Request Form for only the actual 9th grade courses your child will take for the 2015-2016 school year.
          Team Burdette and Team Gazzola will meet at 5:30pm.
          Team Moss and Team Posey will meet at 7:00pm.
 
I look forward to seeing you at both meetings, on November 11th or 12th, and again on December 1st.
Duke Talent Identification Program

Information for the Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP) was sent home via qualified 7th grade students on Tuesday, November 3rd. Per Duke, the enrollment deadline is extended for the January SAT and the February ACT. Paper applications must be postmarked no later than November 16, 2015. The deadline for on-line applications is still December 9, 2015.
The PCMS Book Fair is almost here! 

Start Your Book Fair Shopping Early! Our in-school Book Fair begins on November 16th, and you can begin your book shopping on 11/08 ONLINE at  http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/peachtreechartermiddlesch by clicking on the Shop Now button. Online shopping is available until 11/27/15. 

You can also sign up to volunteer at the book fair on the website.

ALL purchases benefit our school. FREE shipping directly to our school after the online fair has ended (orders will be sent home with your child).

The Book Fair is coming and we are looking for volunteers for mornings (8-9:30) and afternoons (3:30 - 4:30) and one evening.  We could also use some help with setting up and taking down the books.  Please see the link below for details.
