A Message from the PCMS Foundation

PCMS Foundation Annual fund drive needs your help!  Thank you to all who have already donated!
The PCMS Foundation is an independent, non- profit organization dedicated to soliciting donations and grants to support the long- term educational enhancements, health and wellness initiatives, staff development and academic extracurricular activities for PCMS.  We are asking for your help to reach our goal of 100% participation from all PCMS families and to reach our target of raising $55,000 to enhance our academic excellence.

The suggested donation is $125 per family.  Any amount you give is appreciated and is 100% tax deductible.  Donations can be made at www.peachtreechartermiddleschool.org and select "donate to the annual fund".

Thank you for your support!

Sixth Grade Parents!...the PTCC Needs you to get INVOLVED!

The PCMS Parent Teacher Charter Council has a few remaining vacant committee chairs.  Filling these vacancies will help you to CONNECT to the PCMS community and help you LOG your volunteer hours!  Please consider how you can help by taking on one of these roles:

Teacher, Staff & Bus Driver Appreciation Co-Chair:  Collaborate with another parent to coordinate Bus Driver Appreciation in the fall, holiday gifts, teacher appreciation luncheon and raffle prizes in the spring.  This is a great way to show our fantastic staff how much you appreciate them!

Merchant Rebates/Partners in Education:  This opportunity is terrific for most parents because it does not require much time at school.  This committee chair will use the PCMS communication tools to educate parents on the various rebate programs that generate passive revenue for our school.  The ideal volunteer will  track the financial results from these programs, continue to build and maintain relationships with our Partners in Education, and recognize our partnerships by maintaining display cases and communicating their support to the PCMS community.

CV Classic Food/Beverage Manager:  The CV Classic committee seeks a volunteer to coordinate the donations and deliveries of supplies from our in-kind partners.  The CV Classic is only 9 weeks away, so this job will soon be over!  All contacts are provided, and the committee needs your help with follow up and coordination of pick-up and delivery.

All volunteers are welcome--not just Sixth Grade parents!  Contact PTCC Executive Committee Chair Julia LeDoyen julianledoyen@comcast.net with questions or to express your commitment! Don't delay!

A Note from Coach Gartner

It's been a great first week in Health and Physical Education. Thank you to everyone for your patience with the youth shorts that we ran out of at registration. We now have those shorts so if your child needs a YM or YL, please send cash or check (we'll accept through the end of August) to the gym in the morning and we will help him/her out. If you need other clothing items and/or locks ($5), we will be selling those on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:15-8-40.

CV Classic Update

Our 6th Annual 5K CV Classic is only 9 weeks away!!! We hope you and your family plan on participating in our single most important fundraiser for our school clinic workers and also it is a great opportunity to show off your CV (CardioVascular) skills. All PCMS students who participate in the 5K will earn 2 CV Days off during the school year plus the CV Classic race shirt is perfect to wear for school and/or PE class.

EARLY REGISTRATION is for the next 2 weeks (through August) and the cost to participate is $15...what a great deal! Registration then goes up to $20 through October 13th which is the final day to register. You may register on race day from 7:00-8:00, however, the cost will be $25.

***Please be aware that you must register by September 15 to be guaranteed a race shirt.
Registration forms are available in the gym and in the front office. All forms need to be turned into Coach Gartner or mailed to the school.

Thank you,
Coach Caryn Gartner
