Orlando Trip

Congratulations to the Performing Arts Department for a fabulous trip to Orlando! We are so very proud of your accomplishments!

The group arrived in Orlando Wednesday evening March 18, and returned early Sunday March 22.

The group  spent the entire day Friday at EPCOT. The Chorus, Orchestra and Band produced a music video and experienced what a recording session is in real life. Each group had 2 and a half hours to accomplish a complete video recording.

Friday the group spent the entire day at the Magic Kingdom,

The Chorus performed at Saratoga Springs for Festival Disney in the afternoon, and received a Superior rating for their performance. This is the best rating a group can be awarded.

The Orchestra and Band performed on the stage at the American Idol Superstar Theater at Hollywood Studios, and received Excellent ratings for their performances.  Violinist Christine Chang, the PCMS Orchestra Concert Mistress was awarded the Festival Disney Soloist award. This honor is awarded to a select few musicians. Congratulations Christine!

The judges and support personnel all complimented the groups on the ability to play together and the display of professionalism on and off the stage.

Saturday the group spent the entire day at Hollywood Studios. The Drama Club went to the "Broadway Magic" workshop and learned how to work on a  theatrical production on a limited schedule with a deadline. The Band Chorus and Orchestra went to the Festival Disney Awards Ceremony and Dance Party Saturday Night.

The Performing Arts Department represented Peachtree well, and many comments were stated from visitors and Disney personnel regarding the respect and professionalism of the group.
