Faculty Email Addresses

DeKalb County School District has transitioned to a new email address system.  We are no longer using FirstClass.  We are now using Microsoft Outlook.  Although FirstClass is supposed to continue "transferring all emails" to our new domain, it is best for you to actually use our domain when you are emailing us.

The name part of the email address is the same -

(First Name_MI_Last Name) but the domain is now @dekalbschoolsga.org

Although it is our expectation to respond promptly to emails, we are experiencing problems with the new email system.  We have received a lot of complaints that multiple emails have been sent, and that teachers, counselors, and administrators are not responding to them.  If you do not hear back from a staff member within two business days (48 hours) from an email you sent, please follow up with a phone call.  Thank you.

2015 All-State Chorus
The PCMS Chorus program is pleased to announce that the following musicians have earned the honor of being selected to participate in the Georgia Music Educators Association 2015 All-State Chorus! These musicians are Robert Freedman, Luke Freedman, Sdney Levy, Jessica Maaskant, Anna Wilkerson and Lillian Zimmerman. BRAVO musicians for becoming the first musicians in the history of the PCMS Chorus program to earn this wonderful opportunity to sing with the best musicians across the state of Georgia. We are so proud of you and best of luck at UGA!!

Box Tops for Education
Last semester you earned $1079.90 to support PCMS! The next prize drawing will be held February 6, 2015, so it's time to start turning your Box Tops in again. This is how to do it:
- Clip Box Tops from every day products you buy.
- Put them in a sandwich bag.
- Write your name on the baggie along with grade and homeroom teacher's name.
- 20 Box tops = 1 entry

The more you turn in, the better chance you have to win!  Place your labeled bag in the Box Tops containers located in the cafeteria, at the school store, and at the security desk AT ANY TIME DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR. Any entries submitted between now and February 5th will be eligible for the February drawing.

Rising 6th Grade Parents

PCMS invites parents of 5th graders to learn more about PCMS and information to prepare your rising 6th grader for middle school.

The last informational coffee will be on Sunday, February 8 at 2:00 pm in the cafeteria. The session will last 1 hour and will be followed by a school tour.

You will receive information about the summer bridge program offered to rising 6th graders to help with the transition to PCMS, typical 6th grade schedules,
band/orchestra/choral offerings, daily PE, and the accelerated math program.
You will also have the opportunity to ask questions of the school's principal and teachers.

PCMS Spirit Wear will be available for purchase in the school store on February 8 from 3:00-4:00pm. Cash or check only.

Tours of PCMS are offered to parents by appointment if you are not able to attend one of the coffees.
