New Immunization Requirements
Due to the new immunization requirements for the state of Georgia, all continuing 7th grade students and any new 8th grade students must present a new Form 3231 showing proof of the whooping cough booster and a meningococcal shot. The new Form 3231 lists these vaccines (MVC4 and Tdap) under "Required Vaccines for School or Child Care Attendance" rather than under "Recommended Vaccines," and also has a separate checkbox in the upper right corner indicating "Complete for 7th Grade or Higher." The new Form 3231 can be obtained from your child's pediatrician or through the DeKalb County Community Health Board. The closest Health Board location is 3807 Clairmont Rd., Chamblee 30341. To be sure your doctor has given you the correct form, view a sample of the new Form 3231 at this link. The new Form 3231 must be presented at Registration Day, August 6th. Thankyou for helping us to conform to the new immunization requirements. |

Summer Bridge for Rising 6th Graders
Summer Bridge 2014 On Thursday, July 31st, and Friday, August 1st, Peachtree Charter Middle School is hosting a special event for our rising 6th graders. We would like to invite all students who will be 6th graders in the 2014-2015 school year to participate in our Summer Bridge program. The Summer Bridge is designed to ease the transition between elementary and middle school as well as prepare students entering Peachtree to have a wonderful and productive 6th grade year! Thursday, July 31, 2014, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, is reserved exclusively for 6th grade parents to register their children. Registration will take place in the gym (signs will be posted to help direct you to the correct location). Your registration will not last the entire morning, but please arrive early enough to allow approximately one hour to complete the process. Friday, August 1, 2014, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the students will attend an orientation program consisting of several sessions such as: appropriate use of the locker and agenda planner, extracurricular activities available, and a scavenger hunt throughout the building. Students will have fun! Parents should plan to attend a parent question and answer session with the Principal from 11:30am- 12:00pm in the cafeteria, before the 12:00pm pick up time. |

Georgia Natural Gas TrueBlue Schools Program
Since 2008, Georgia Natural Gas has been supporting schools with their TrueBlue Schools program. They give $5 per month to your designated school for each registered customer. PCMS has benefited from this and collected $16,820 over the years for improvements at the school. Unfortunately, they are phasing out this program over the next twelve months. BUT you can still help PCMS get funds over the next school year. Since it will be the last year, Georgia Natural Gas is only allowing new enrollments through June 30, 2014. This means that if you are a Ga Natural Gas customer and you aren't already enrolled in this program and you want to help PCMS AT NO COST TO YOU, you must enroll by the end of June. Please use this link to enroll today. www.trueblueschools.com and click the blue button that says "start helping your school today!" All you need to provide is your GNC account number from your bill! It's an easy way to help PCMS support our students and teachers. Act fast before time runs out!
