Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking and Keeping Your Kids Cyber Safe!

Guest Speakers: 

 

 

Maralyn Lieberman from Atlanta Based Organization Street Grace - is passionate about bringing awareness to the devastating problem of the trafficking of children in our state, and around the globe.  

Ben Halpert from Savvy Cyber Kids - Savvy Cyber Kids is a non profit organization that provides parents and teachers with resources and courses on raising cyber savvy kids.

Officer Timothy Fecht from the Dunwoody Police Department will talk about cyber safety and the new program in Dunwoody.

All are welcome to attend, but due to the subject matter, parents may want to leave younger children at home.

PCMS Apple Orchard

Volunteer children from PCMS needed/invited to come help from 4:00 to 6:00 to plant ten apple trees by the PCMS Living Classroom on Thursday, April 3rd. We will have an arborist, Robby Astrove, formerly of Trees Atlanta, to lead planting and student education. Any questions, contact Ms.

DUNWOODY HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL PROSPECTS

(Current 8th graders)

 

 

Are you going to try out for the Wildcats Boys Basketball team next year? We're already starting to prepare for next season! We have Sunday Skills Sessions and Weekday Strength and Conditioning underway! You need to be involved! Come meet Coach Dankosky and learn about the new Wildcat Basketball Program and the commitment required during the Spring and Summer to prepare for tryouts next season. The meeting will be Wednesday, April 2nd at 6:00 at Dunwoody High School in the Cafeteria. The cost for the summer program including practices, scrimmages, college over night and other college camps will be $325 and must be paid prior to April 30th. Volleyball open gym for girls in grades 5-8

 

Does your daughter like to play volleyball or interested in the game?

 

The Peachtree Middle School Volleyball program will hold several open gym dates for girls in grades 5-8. Open gym is a great way for girls to get on the court and really learn the game. Upcoming gym dates are April 15, 17, 22, 24 at Peachtree Middle School. Play time is from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

 

In addition to the spring dates, open gym dates are also planned for the summer. The summer program will also take place at Peachtree Middle School on July 21, 23, 25, 28, 30 from 10 a.m. to noon.

 

Finally, volleyball tryouts for the Peachtree Middle School Volleyball Team will be held on Saturday, Aug. 2, from 9 a.m. to noon and Sunday, Aug. 3, from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Exam Changes Due To Calendar Changes

Due to the recent changes in the District calendar, Peachtree will adjust the dates for the final exams. Exams will be administered May 21-23. The exam schedule will be sent out via enews on April 20, 2014. If you have questions or concerns regarding the exams, please contact your child's teachers.

Girls Golf Team Needs Golfers! 
The girls golf team is looking for girls interested in playing golf. Any girl interested in learning to play golf, regardless of experience, is encouraged to contact Coach Owings for more information. mailto:ecowings@bellsouth.net  or you can call at 404-401-9838.
Chorus Gift Card Fundraiser

 

Need an end-of-the-year teacher gift or something special for Mother's and Father's Day? PCMS Chorus is selling gift cards to popular retailers such as Barnes & Noble, Bed Bath & Beyond, Gap, iTunes, Old Navy, Starbucks, and many more.  Cards are available for face value.

 

Please see a PCMS Chorus member or Ms. Dennard for a complete list of available cards and to place your order. Cards will be delivered in early May, leaving plenty of time for wrapping!

SKILL INSTRUCTION:

CAMP FEATURES:

  • T-shirt for each camper
  • Camp awards and prizes
  • Concession stand open daily (snacks/drinks only)
  • Campers must provide their own lunch

COST:
  • $150 per player
  • $50.00 non-refundable deposit is required with registration form.  
  • Balance is due the day of camp.  
  • Please submit deposit by Mon, May 12th.

We are adding up all of the volunteer hours for the first semester and wanted to remind you of a few things:
  • According to our charter, all Peachtree families are required to volunteer 10 hours per year
  • Peachtree gets credit for having great family involvement when we are applying for grants but we have to show we have the hours
  • Almost everything you do at or near PCMS counts!  
    • Donations are 1 hour for every $10
    • Attending band/orchestra/chorus concerts counts as volunteering!
    • Attending basketball games or other sports events counts
    • One track meet would be practically all of your hours!
    • Attending honors assemblies also counts as volunteering
    • Attending the CV Classic or Drama fall festival counts!
    • Attending the student showcase counts
  • Its easy to enter your hours...just CLICK HERE.  You can also always find the link permanently placed on the sidebar of every edition of the PCMS eNews and on the PCMS website homepage.
