PCMS Annual Fund

With the season of giving upon us, we take this opportunity to reflect on all that we have received so far this school year.  On behalf of the Foundation, Parent Teacher Charter Council, teachers and students of Peachtree Charter Middle School, we are thankful for those families who have contributed to this year's PCMS Can You Imagine? Annual Fund Campaign.  To date, we have collected $42,000 in donations.

Recently, a PCMS parent shared her thoughts on the importance of supporting the Annual Fund....

"Education is the one of the greatest gifts we can give to our children that can never be taken away.  Education leads to empowerment and creates unlimited opportunities throughout a lifetime.  An investment in education generates outstanding returns and importantly creates a multiplier effect that lasts generations.  As Benjamin Franklin once said, "An investment in knowledge pays the best interest."  A contribution to the PCMS Annual Fund allows the Foundation to invest in programs and activities that directly enhance your child's educational experience at Peachtree.  We invest in the PCMS Annual Fund and many employers will multiply your contribution through matching funds."

The PCMS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Take advantage of the 100% tax-deductible contribution before December 31, 2013.

How to Donate

1. Online by Credit or debit card at www.peachtreechartermiddleschool.org

2. Check or cash by mail or drop off in the school's front office.

If paying by check or cash, please include this form with your payment and note "PCMS Annual Fund" on the outside of the envelope so that your donation may be recorded accurately. Be sure to include your child's name and grade, too.  Checks made payable to PCMS Foundation.

Don't forget matching funds!

Many corporations have matching gift programs for their employees, retirees, and board members that will double and in some cases triple the portion of your gift that is tax deductible. Contact your employer to determine if they will match your financial gift and to find out the guidelines for obtaining matching funds.

Scoliosis Screening

Attention parents of 6th and 8th grade students-  The Health and PE
department will be conducting the mandatory scoliosis screening on Tues.,
Dec. 17th during the PE/Health class period.  All students will be
screened unless they return a signed form by the parent stating they do
not need to be screened.  If a form is not returned, the student will be
screened for scoliosis.  Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine
and when detected early (during the middle school years), treatment can
help to prevent further progression.  All girls should wear a bra, sports
bra, halter top, or bathing suit top under their clothes on the day of the
screening.  All students received a permission slip in class that must be
returned if you do not want your child participating. Click here for waiver.
