Can You Imagine?
On behalf of the Foundation, Parent Teacher Charter Council, teachers and students of Peachtree Charter Middle School, we are pleased to report that the Can You Imagine? Annual Fund has received over $41,771 in family donations and corporate matching programs.
In the words of our own 8th grade Math Teacher, Ms. Bussert: When Georgia switched to the Georgia Performance Standards for its math curriculum, the State of Georgia provided each teacher with a classroom
set of Coach books. As the name implies, the book helps "coach" students through the topics covered in each grade by simplifying explanations and providing practice questions. When Georgia adopted the Common Core Georgia Performance standards, those books became obsolete because of the switch in topics between grade levels. Teachers considered these a valuable supplemental tool for the classroom and missed having them. Thanks to the Foundation, we once again have this resource available. The Foundation allowed us to purchase classroom sets for each math teacher. We look forward to being able to supplement our materials with this great resource. Can we imagine? Yes, we can! |

 Donations for the Holidays As we approach the holidays, our social worker, Ms. Roque, is accepting donations of gift cards (KMart, Walmart, Target, Kroger, Publix, etc.) for Peachtree families in need. If you would like to make a donation, please bring the gift card(s) to Ms. Sellers in the main office, and log your donation into the system for volunteer hours. Thank you, as always, for your generosity. |
Congratulations to PCMS All Stars!
Congratulations to Cater Carr, PCMS Football All Star and Ashton Harbin, PCMS Cheerleader All Star. Both Cater and Ashton were recognized on Saturday November 2, 2013 at the DeKalb County Championship football game along with the All Stars selected from the other DeKalb County Middle Schools. Way to go! |

PCMS Cheerleaders at Kingsley
The PCMS cheerleaders provided a Red-Ribbon-Week Pep Rally for Kingsley Elementary students on Wednesday, October 29. The cheerleaders led the Kingsley students in several cheers regarding "Say No to Drugs" and gave a performance of their competition cheer routine.

Book Fair is Coming... Volunteers Needed!
The Scholastic Book Fair will be at our school November 18th-22nd, open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm daily. The Book Fair will also be open from 6:00 - 7:00 pm on the evening of the PCMS band concert on November 21st. The exciting theme for our fall 2013 Book Fair is Reading Oasis: A Cool Place to Discover Hot Books! Our Book Fair will be a journey back to Ancient Egypt overflowing with hundreds of book treasures just waiting to be discovered. Book Fair Luncheon - Donations Needed
In honor of our teachers and to show them we appreciate them, the Book Fair Committee is sponsoring a lunch on November 15, 2013. Please support our efforts by either sending in food or making a donation towards the purchase of food for this event.
