Millions of kids have been working hard all year perfecting their solutions to Odyssey of the Mind problems and competing within their regions and states. Only a few will advance to World Finals - these teams represent the best of the best creative minds. Teams from around the world will compete in the 34th Odyssey of the Mind World Finals. The competition emphasizes creativity and teamwork and has grown into the largest international creative problem-solving competition worldwide. While the competition is fierce, there is also a feeling of camaraderie among competitors. Many students form life-long friendships that span the U.S. and the globe. At World Finals, teams have the chance to learn about other cultures through a common goal . . . to be as creative as they can!
Here is our

 Dunwoody Nature Center
The Dunwoody Nature Center runs a series of camps throughout the summer for younger children. We count on teenagers, age 14+ (13 year olds may inquire), to serve as volunteer (no pay) Junior Counselors for these camps - assisting the educators and enhancing the camp experience. In turn we hope this gives the JCs great material for resumes and college applications, as well as teaching them responsibility, etc. We ask that JCs attend one 1-hour mandatory training class and commit to a full week (or weeks) of camp at a time. Shifts can be full day, 9-12:30 or 12-3:30. Interested students should email: volunteer@dunwoodynature.org

DeKalb County School System High School Junior Varsity Water Polo Fall Season 2013
Current 8th grade students - rising 9th graders - interested in playing junior varsity water polo for the DeKalb County School System during the 2013 season need to contact the school system's faculty representative - William Shrader - by email at shrader.ws@gmail.com to state their interest in participation. This must be done by the end of this school year - May 2013. Also, all players must have a new DeKalb County School System (DCSS) physical form completed by a certified health employee by July 1, 2013. No physicals with a certified health employee signature and date before April 1, 2013 can be accepted. No players can wait until their yearly physical if that date is after July 1, 2013 to get a new competed form for School Year 13-14. Please look at the top of the DCSS physical form for reference to this policy date. DCSS physical forms can be downloaded and printed from your school's website. Once at website, go to "Sports" for the download. The 2013 season begins the first week in August with practices beginning July 8th, so coaches must know who is participating on the team before the end of the 2012-2013 school year. Thank you and look forward to hearing from all interested players soon.
