  • The early registration deadline is fast approaching for the Godly Play training being offered at All Saints, Greensboro, January 10-12, 2014. The cost is only $75 if registration is completed by December 20, 2013. After December 20, the standard registration is $125.
  • From the Episcopal Church:
    • Watch the Most Rev. Dr. Katharine Jefferts Schori's Advent reflection.

    • Three beloved Advent services will be presented live by the Episcopal Church Office of Communication.

      The live webcasts can be accessed on the website of the Episcopal Church.

    • Online applications for the Young Adult Service Corps are now being accepted. The deadline is January 3, 2014.

    • The House of Bishops (HOB) Primer on Ecclesiology is now available in three languages: English, Spanish and French.

5 - ECW Wrapping for Duff, 9:00a.m.-12:00p.m., Blue Room, Christ Church, Charlotte. Join in the wrapping of Christmas gifts for our friends and more than 200 children in Duff, Tennessee.  
 
7 - Second Annual Jingle Bell LEAP Fun Run/Walk, 9:00a.m., Duke's East Campus, Main Street entrance, Durham. 
 
7 - Market Day and Wreath Sale, 8:00a.m.-12:00p.m, St.David's, Laurinburg. Items include fresh handmade wreaths, homemade food and holiday poinsettias. 
 
7 - 3rd Annual Art-A-Fair, 3:00-6:00p.m., All Saints, Greensboro. A community-wide event featuring the work of local artists and artisans for sale, profits from the event go to support winter emergency shelters around Greensboro. 
 
7 - Annual Holiday Market, 10:00a.m.-3:00p.m., St. Francis, Greensboro. Shop for metal sculpture, pottery, wreaths, original art, jewelry, stationery, hand crafted furniture, quilts, home decor, ornaments, tote bags, used books, chicken pies and more, all created by more than 40 local artisans. Admission is free.
 
7 - Annual ECW Christmas Bazaar, 9:30a.m.-1:00p.m., Christ Church, Charlotte. Enjoy fantastic handcrafted gifts, holiday greenery, and delicious homemade foods and more to get you in the Christmas spirit.  
 
7-8 - 6th Annual Festival of the Society Tree (FeST), 9:00a.m.-3:00p.m. (Dec. 7), 12:00-3:00p.m. (Dec. 8), St. Matthew's, Hillsborough. Celebrating what began Christmas 1867, come enjoy original art, homemade items, preserves and baked goods, greenery and wreaths, docent tours and the men's candlelight concert. 

 

13-15 - Bishops' Ball, Camp Walter Johnson. This year's theme is "At the Crossroads."

22 - A Service of Nine Lessons and Carols, 11:00a.m., Christ Church, Raleigh. Take a journey through time where scripture is interwoven with beautiful anthems and traditional Advent and Christmas carols.
