Community Bulletin BoardBoard
  • Each year, The Episcopal Network for Stewardship designs an annual giving campaign that explores how the choices we make with our money and giving reflect our faith and values. This year, seven contributing writers explore the question of faithful giving over the course of six weeks October 6 - November 10. Each reflection integrates the Gospel lection of the day with a stewardship principle and practice. Resources include seven bulletin inserts; sample letters from the rector, senior warden and stewardship chair; a pledge card; prayers of the people; a prayer over the pledge cards; template thank you letter; and a downloadable Flourish in Faith logo. The series is accessible to diocesan, parish and individual members of TENS and is also available for purchase

This week's Bible Challenge meditation comes from the Rev. Canon Trawin Malone.

Special Reminder:
Just One Thing
For most students, college is a time of great transformation. Students figure out who they are, discern what they are called to do, make friends who will shape them and often find a partner for life. Students are also challenged profoundly: often in debt, often in doubt, often shaken to the core. College students, at any level, need a connection to campus ministry. Take less than five minutes and refer every college student you know to the Episcopal campus ministry congregation at his or her college through the Just One Thing initiative.
Convention Update

Next deadline: Sept. 2

The final refrain of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s most famous speech echoed around the world at 3:00 this afternoon as bells from churches, schools and historical monuments "let freedom ring" in celebration of a powerful moment in civil rights history. The change ringers at Christ Church, Raleigh, joined in by ringing a quarter peal - that's 40 minutes of music! The clip, however, is much, much shorter. Read more about this special commemoration.
