LCI is fortunate to have the council from so many passionate and knowledgeable experts. As they say, it takes a village! We'd like to thank and welcome two new members to the LCI Advisory Council: Brian T. Fitzgerald, M.S. developed his appreciation of Vermont's natural resources while growing up in Pittsford, VT where his home range spanned two watersheds: the Castleton River and Otter Creek. From 1996 to 2013 he worked in streamflow protection and river restoration at the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources. Read more about Brian...Sally Flis, Ph.D. recently joined LCI's Advisory Council, providing LCI staff with her expertise in the agricultural field. Dr. Flis earned her B.S. and M.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Ph.D. in Plant and Soil Science from the University of Vermont. Seminar: Ecological Puzzles and a Passion for Lakes
March 10, 2014; 4-5pm
This free event, sponsored by the UVM Rubenstein Ecosystem Science Lab, hosts Dr. Kathleen Weathers from the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies. The topic will be "How Cyanobacteria, Sensors, and Cyberinfrastructure Helped Launch Scientists and Citizens into a 21st Century Experiment."
