Clean Water. Healthy Fish. Happy People.
Instilling a conservation
ethic in the next generation

"If there is a critical issue facing Lake Champlain's water
quality or fisheries,
our
Executive Director James Ehlers
and his staff are on top of it!
"

                                                              -LCI President, Scott Goddard

Salmon - the symbol of healthy waters - was a fish once so abundant people were warned against crossing Champlain Valley streams on horseback lest the horse be spooked by waters full of healthy, heavy salmon. Today, there are virtually no natural populations.

LCI is well positioned to make a big difference, though.  We
have the talent and the ability to protect the health of our waters, restore fisheries, and motivate the next generation of stewards.  We hope you will join our team as there is much more to be done.

Be a member of Lake Champlain International as a statement of your support for this ongoing work.

In appreciation of your support, you will be eligible for the following gifts:
  • Member Certificate
  • Exclusive LCI Member hat
  • Member decal
  • Monthly e-newsletter
  • Invitation to member-only events and a member-only online community page
  • Exclusive jackets, sweatshirts, and fishing equipment!

As a member, you will be a part of the community that is taking Lake Champlain protection to a new level.  Here are a few examples:

Instill a conservation ethic in the next generation through our children's education programs, highlighted by our mascot Bobber Bob.

Address water pollution runoff from private homes through a voluntary, but contractually binding incentive program called BLUEŽ.

Build a coalition of diverse interests, including The Nature Conservancy, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Yamaha Marine Group and Trout Unlimited, to restore water quality, habitat, and fisheries to Lake Champlain and its tributaries.

Educate policymakers and elected officials regarding the contamination of our drinking water with pharmaceuticals and toxins, and the need to address our aging and failing water and wastewater infrastructure.

Thank you for joining the LCI team!

"Being native Vermonters, and now owning a small business that depends on a strong and healthy lake, we need the fine folks at LCI more than ever. Our business is strongly influenced by the tireless efforts of everyone at LCI. Should anyone ever have a question as to where to donate resources or time, you will never go wrong by getting involved with the outstanding folks at LCI."
