On the heels of several awards during 2012, Lake Champlain International (LCI) has been designated as a "Top-Rated Nonprofit" by the internationally trusted organizations GuideStar and GreatNonprofits.

GuideStar and GreatNonprofits forged a partnership providing an online service that allows people who are familiar with a nonprofit to rate and review the organization.  Financial, organizational, and program information provide exceptional transparency of each nonprofit.  With several "amazing" reviews from supporters, fishing derby participants, donors, state officials, and more, as GreatNonprofits wrote on the LCI Facebook page, LCI is now on the national list of Top-Rated Nonprofits.

"Being native Vermonters, and now owning a small business that depends on a strong and healthy lake, we need the fine folks at LCI more than ever. Our business is strongly influenced by the tireless efforts of everyone at LCI. Should anyone every have a question as to where to donate resources or time, you will never go wrong by getting involved with the outstanding folks at LCI," said one reviewer on the GreatNonprofits website.

In early November, LCI received a national marketing award for its tagline "Clean Water. Healthy Fish. Happy People."  Earlier in 2012, LCI was presented with the prestigious EPA Environmental Merit Award and was a finalist in the nationally-competitive River Network and MillerCoors grant contest.
