A World of Wine

The Columbia Gorge boasts a unique 40-mile stretch of land that makes a huge transition, swooping from the alpine Underwood Mountain in the west out to the Gorge's eastern desert. On July 9, 2004, the Columbia Gorge Appellation (AVA) became a federally designated grape-growing region.
