We're unplugging this week and taking our recreation un-motorized. That means you've got to work for it. The reward? Silence. That, and camaraderie, close interaction with the natural world, and a tremendous sense of accomplishment. On the agenda in Northeast Oregon:

Red 2 Red XC Cycling

The Red 2 Red Cross-Country Cycle Race begins and ends in Echo, Oregon, with racers traveling the back trails, through vineyards, over creeks and bridges. It is the largest Mountain Bike race in the Pacific Northwest. Accompanied by many activities for supporters and bicycle enthusiasts, from wine tasting at SnoRoad Winery, to great local food & faire. Eagle Cap Wilderness 

   

The Eagle Cap Wilderness lies in the heart of the Wallowa Mountains in Northeast Oregon. Designated as part of the National Wilderness Preservation System in 1964, all 350,461 acres of this amazing area is protected in perpetuity.
