Getting around on our own two feet; most of us have been doing it since we were a year or so old. Starting with baby steps, through the awkward toddler stage, strolling, skipping and sliding, and we were running before we knew it.

Now that we're adults, and we've been walking nearly our whole lives, we're pretty good at it. Until it winter comes and we turn back into cautious toddlers. But, snow doesn't need to stop us in our tracks. In fact, motoring through winter weather on snowshoes or Nordic skis, surrounded by the quiet, offers a most excellent recreational pursuit - of body, mind and soul.
