Sacred Sharing:
The Importance of Councils
by Kamal Bey
Tat Erick Gonzalez

Traditionally, indigenous people have kept the clans strong and united by continuously having ceremonial gatherings to keep the people together with one mind and one heart, supporting the crystallization of their visions.

It is important to close the gap between humans by gathering the elders and youth, to join the wisdom that the elders carry with the yearning that the youth are experiencing. Both can be fed through the spiritual and the ceremonial exchange that happens in councils. We need to take this time even more often in our lives to learn, to connect to each other and Mother Nature, and to be guided by the wisdom of the spiritual leaders and the elders, so that the collective efforts have a strong vision to follow.

Councils offer time to meditate and contemplate the times when we are sane and experiencing our actions and or efforts in this world. As spiritual people we can then come together to compare what is working and help each other to find the solutions to the challenges we are facing.

It helps in going through the transition from a teenager to an adult... Coming here has really helped me clear my brain. I feel a lot more relaxed and not so scared about my future any more. A lot of teenagers are searching for different things. It helped me let go of the past... and it feels like a second home, like a big family... It's amazing.

Our annual Wisdom Keeper and Youth Council is a sacred time for Wisdom Keepers, youth and community to come to live and pray together. Be a part of this unique exchange of sacred teachings, ceremony, prophesies and stories, at our 1700 acre land and ceremonial site called Deer Mountain, north of Mt Shasta in CA.

Through this sacred time of connecting with the elementals and the wisdom of the ages, we can rekindle that which the world has lost, heal the sacred hoop of life, and reconnect to the sacred fire.  You can be a part of preserving and protecting this sacred wisdom and empowering the next seven generations to come!

Each year we create a beautiful village next to the flowing Cold Creek, with participants bringing and setting up their own camps.  Come and join the unique village life amongst a community of Elders, youth and others in a beautiful, natural environment to inspire a new way of living.

Through these Councils, Earth Peoples United is uniting the wisdom and traditions of many tribes and nations across our Mother Earth, providing an opportunity for the keepers of that wisdom to share their teachings with people outside of their traditions. In this New Era it is time for this sacred wisdom to be shared throughout all of humanity.

We invite you to bring your teachings, insights, inspiration and transformation back to your family, community and organizations, as we begin transforming the world, one person at a time!
We expect to have around 40 spaces for youth and only 15 spaces for general Council participants. Early bird pricing available until June 15th- reserve your spot now!
