Dear Friends:
Orange Grove Fire Company invites you and your family to say "Thank You" to Chief Tommy Holmes, Sr. Tommy is retiring as Orange Grove Fire Chief after 40 years of service. The event will be held on Sunday, January 20th from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the Cane Creek Activity Center, 6716 Orange Grove Road (just north of Dairyland Road). Light refreshments will be served.
For many rural families, Tommy was the first on the scene in a medical or fire emergency. In addition to leading Orange Grove, he has provided mutual aid to White Cross, Efland, Mebane, Orange Rural and other fire districts. Tommy built an impressive team, including incoming Chief Steve McCauley, who will continue Orange Grove's tradition of outstanding service. Behind the scenes, Tommy has been, and will continue to be, a passionate advocate for the health, safety and security of our community.
This is our chance to say thank you and wish Tommy well. He's retiring from the fire department - but not from public service. Lucky for us.
I hope you can join us on the 20th. For headcount purposes, please send Orange Grove President Bill Waddell an email and let him know that you are coming.
Thank you for your support to Orange County Voice and the rural community.
Sincerely,
Bonnie
