Everyone can make a difference for animals

Donors
Thank you to Brianna & Blair from Whangarei, New Zealand. These two bright & generous youngsters set up a stall at their local mall to raise funds for EHF by selling their grandmother's delicious baked goods and their old toys and collected $112.90! Their hard work will help us care for animals and save lives. Thank you Brianna & Blair for showing that everyone can be a part of making a difference for animals.

Cook Islands tourists who have traveled throughout the South Pacific often comment that they will not go back to Samoa, Fiji or Tonga because of the huge number of roaming packs of unhealthy, aggressive dogs. One tourism expert, who had recently visited all three of these islands, described the dog situation on these islands as "horrific" adding, "The more I see of the Esther Honey Foundation the more I value it."

Here's another top reason to donate to The Esther Honey Foundation.

Your donation can help ensure that the Esther Honey Foundation volunteers have all of the drugs, equipment and supplies required to treat more than 3,000 Cook Islands' animals annually.

These funds are critical to continuing Esther Honey's life-saving services. The Esther Honey Foundation has been the sole provider

of companion animal veterinary services, humane population management and education for the Cook Islands since 1995. EHF provides quality veterinary services at no charge. Owned and homeless animals receive comparable care and no healthy animal is euthanized.

Thanks to our supporters and volunteers the Esther Honey Foundation has

  • Treated more than 38,000 animals
  • Spayed/Neutered more than 14,000 cats and dogs
  • Conducted 113 EHF VET TREKŪ free clinics, education and training programs for 6 outer islands.

Dr. Anne Fawcett, a veterinarian, journalist and veterinary science lecturer at the University of Sydney, recently booked a flight to the Cook Islands to experience first-hand the work that the Esther Honey Foundation does on the islands.

"I don't like writing about something I haven't seen, because you can get caught supporting something that's maybe not that worthy," said Fawcett. She describes the work of Esther Honey as "excellent".

The well-known vet, who writes a popular blog focusing on small animals, dedicated a week of blog space to her Cook Islands visit and interviews with three EHF Team Members:
Cathy Sue Ragan-Anunsen
Dr. Michelle Gray
Dr. Barry Nicholls

This year, 80 international volunteers including 43 veterinarians, traveled to Rarotonga to provide veterinary care for cats, dogs, goats, pigs, horses, cows, chickens and sea birds who would not have received care without the Esther Honey Foundation.

Thanks to caring people like you, Esther Honey and its volunteers working with local individuals, businesses and officials have significantly and humanely decreased the number of wandering animals in the Cook Islands through our scientifically proven spay/neuter and education programs.

We have an enduring commitment to maintain and build on these improvements that we have all made in the health conditions and quality of life for Cook Islands' animals and their communities.

Your generous gift today helps us maximize our capacity for providing veterinary care and services to every animal who needs our help.

We are truly grateful for all that you do for animals. On behalf of all of us at The Esther Honey Foundation, I want to wish you and your family a happy, healthy and joyous new year.
