Four Remarkable Donors
Esther Honey values every donor and every contribution helps to provide the Foundation's veterinary and education services. In 2012, we began an annual tradition to honor four of our remarkable donors with seashell plaques inscribed with their names:
* Mary Smith and Bob Riley - for the gift that keeps on giving: Solar Panels and Installation
* The Bond Store and the Richard Barton Family - for the gift that saves lives and limbs: X-ray Machine and Stand
* Tata & Liz Crocombe - for their early and enduring relationship and support
* The Roadhouse - for their ongoing financial support that helps keep the clinic doors open and animal tummies full

These donors' generosity and support have contributed significantly to the creation and continuation of veterinary and humane education services benefiting the Cook Islands' community and their animals. Together, the difference the Esther Honey Foundation and its supporters make can be permanent.

Kia Orana! Time is running out to make a charitable donation to the Esther Honey Foundation.

What an exciting year 2012 has been for our organization. Thanks to your support, we have once again made a significant difference for the animals and communities of the Cook Islands.

I'm pleased to share some of the highlights of our 2012 accomplishments. Your previous generous support allowed us to:
  • Treat more than 3,000 owned and homeless animals at no cost to the community
  • Spay/Neuter more than 500 cats and dogs
  • Provide one-half million dollars (US) in veterinary services
  • Serve 14,000 meals and rehome 230 dogs and cats
  • Provide Animal Health and Humane Education Presentations for every Preschool and some secondary schools on Rarotonga. (1,966 seeds of kindness and compassion planted!)
These are some numbers that represent the work of Esther Honey in 2012, but they don't describe the magnificent individual animals that we cared for. Santa (the fairy tern), Bridget, Pirate, Charlie, the "kittens at large" and the endangered hawksbill sea turtle would all thank you if they could.

More than 35 veterinarian volunteers traveled to the Cook Islands in 2012 joining the 300 who have treated more than 34,000 animals since 1995. Wherever EHF practices, homeless animals and animals with guardians receive comparable care and no healthy animal is euthanized.

2013 will be our 18th year in the Cook Islands. If past years are predictive of future years, 3,000 Cook Islands animals will require veterinary care in the New Year and their conditions will provide challenges and opportunities for the Esther Honey Foundation and our volunteers. Your donation this year will be the key to our overcoming these challenges and providing successful outcomes. Please donate today to make a difference for the animals and the communities of the Cook Islands.

Wishing you and yours, peace, love and joy in the New Year,
